Very optimistic for next season despite our transfer ban.

We have new signings in Pulisic and loan recalls for Zouma, Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Mount and Batshuayi. That's not bad at all. Don't forget Abraham has improved and could turn out to be the dark horse here.

For me Zouma is a real contender for the first 11, we have a very good crop of CB's. Azpi and Emerson will be the fullbacks with Alonso and RJ pushing. If our strikers can get scoring then who knows. one thing for sure is that we will now play as a unit as opposed to relying on superstar Hazard.

We will have an enthusiastic, passionate manager in Lampard. He will have the fans behind him and that will boost morale all round. I can't wait to see the impact he has on players like RLC and CHO.

I'd be a lot more optimistic if the likes of Ruben, Odoi and James weren't injured but i'm definitely still looking forward to next season. I agree though i reckon we'll play much more as a unit now Hazard's gone. I'm more intrigued as to how we'll be setting up. 4231? 433? It'll be interesting to see what Lampard does during pre-season. I don't expect us to keep to one formation throughout the season but there are ones that'll allow certain players to play more to their strengths than others. Personally i'd setup in a 4231

Kepa
Azpi Zouma Christensen Emerson
Kante Jorginho
Pulisic Mount Odoi
Batshuayi

Once they're fit i'd replace Azpi for Reece and Ruben for Mount. Abraham to be the back up to Bats but i wouldn't mind him starting instead though. Dasilva to backup Emerson as well. I think this formation will play more to Kante's strengths than a 433, he's our best player now that Hazard's gone and playing him in a two man pivot will get the best out of him which is important. Also with our attack not being as good now Hazard's gone it'll be even more important to make sure we're difficult to score against. With that formation playing more of a counter attacking style against other big clubs would be the best way to go in my opinion.

The above posts are full of optimism. They are music to my very old ears!

LondonBlue very good points there mate. I couldn't disagree. I think we will be very balanced being open to change depending who who we play against.

I think there will be extra energy coming from the players with all of this change. It's a new change and approach by the club. Some of these former players will get respect given their successes.

Can't wait for the new campaign!

The player which I think may surprise us all this coming season is Barkley. Somehow I believe that he may be one of the key players for us this year.

Well said CFCShak, the Season has not even started and your post is so refreshing compared to another regular posters stance the other Day! As Tom says, we are going to win the league😁.

Thanks G8, I hope we do push for the league. I remember under Conte everyone had written us off and we went onto to win the league that year. I have every faith in the mighty blues!

I want Chelsea to win the league, but from my own little knowledge of football, I don't think we will win the league cos there are others that are in a better vantage point to win it. Football is unpredictable though. Blow up pants if your don't like it.

Sorry for that statement but the person that it was directed to knows himself- certainly not directed to you gianfranco gola.

No need to explain Obinna. The terminology is very funny!

Well, it made me chuckle anyway!
