Remember when Ed001 told us Kepa was one of our big weak links in this team and i was on the fence about it but he's spot on, he's a bang average keeper. Couple of penalty saves last season really overshadowed what was a pretty average season by him. And now he's constantly not saving shots that he really should be saving + making silly errors and it's costing us. This team reminds me of City when Pep first got here but with a younger team, good going forward but an average defence with a poor keeper will continue to cost us points this season. Personally felt we deserved something from the game though but losing 2-1 away to City with that performance wasn't all bad. Huge game against Valencia coming up and hopefully we'll get the job done.

Who’s his replacement though? I’d play Caballero for now.

He’s a great goalkeeper better than anyone we’ve had bar cech.

The problem is it’s the chocolate fire guard he’s got protecting him that’s the problem.

Don't really have any other option than to stick with him and hope he comes good. He's still young so he could get better but i just don't see it. Caballero isn't any better so i wouldn't change anything. We spent soo much on him that i can't see the board accepting a masssive loss on him and getting someone better. This may just be something we'll have to accept for a few years and just hope he comes good. Once we cut out the silly mistakes elsewhere on the pitch and continue to get better it may not become as noticeable.

IMO he will eventually be recognised as the best keeper in world football.

Keepers can really quick go from being laughing stock to being taken very seriously - and vice versa. Remember De Gea. The thing with Kepa, however, is that he seems to have gone a bit downhill since we bought him. Perhaps Caballero should have a few games, just to let Kepa know that there is competition?
Regardless, there is still very much the possibility that Kepa will turn out to be very good. Hopefully it's just a confidence thing right now, and hopefully it gets better soon!

I have always thought that Kepa is too short and lightweight to ever be World class. We should have gone for Nick Pope when we had the chance.
