Personally I don't think we will sign the big profile players we have been linked with in January. I. e. Sancho, Werner, Chilwell, Dembele and Zaha (too expensive) etc. I think it's fairly obvious that none of these players are attainable for one reason or another in January. I hope we can do deals for Sancho and Werner for the summer though.
Realistic targets for January guys?
If I was a betting man I would say Ake, Chalov and maybe Danni Olmo if he doesn't move to Barcelona. Thoughts guys?

I don't think we'll get Sancho, Zaha is more realistic, player plus cash perhaps. We should go all out for Werner, he's a real talent, the other strikers that we're being linked with look bang average in comparison.

Would like Ake, a left footed CB is something we need and for me he'd be our best CB. Don't want Chalov, i've watched very little but from what i have he doesn't look any better than Michy. Would rather stick with Batshuayi until the summer and then go for Werner. And for Olmo he looks like a decent little player but i doubt we're actually in for him.
If i was a betting man the only player i'd bet on us signing is Ake and even that move has it's doubts. It's too hard to predict with us. Our top targets as you said can't be done until the summer and with Lampard wanting attackers who can offer goals and assists in January i can't see players who we've been linked with that can Guarantee that. it'll be a very interesting window for sure.

I thought the Ake deal might have been done quickly. I suppose it goes to show there is no such thing as a done deal in a football transfer window.

If we sign Ake we haven’t learnt a thing. Good player but no better than Rudiger, Zouma or Tomori.
I’d rather sign no one than buy him without sounding harsh because we’re not improving we’re just stagnating.

If we sign Ake or any other player it will be because management at the club want to sign him.
It’s NOT about learning lessons and the management will take little or no notice of what the fans think.!
We are no different to any other club. We have made very good signings and some that haven’t worked out but I trust the senior people are always doing there best to improve every level of club.
Ake is left footed and that is something that all our centre halves are not. He can also play LB.
Anyway I doubt we will sign now!

We were lucky because we made a few good signings under Jose I. e Costa, Cesc and Matic that carried us to two league titles. Apart from Hazard and Kante as well our business has been awful.

If we sign Ake or you, it’s because the club rates him. Whilst it’s all about opinions ours don’t matter. when it comes to transfers.
I personally don’t care who we sign, for me, as soon as they put on the shirt, they are the best.

06111991 I don't think any comment is awful mate. It a viable opinion by Tom and one I'm sure the club considered given that his left footed and could play as the left side CB aswel as a LB should we lose Emerson or Alonso in the January window.

Regarding our successes and failures in the signing of players.
My guess is our percentage of success over failures is better than most clubs but maybe not as good as others.

Miserable as sin when we get beat but luckily over the last fifteen years or so that doesn’t happen very often.
