Also thought Abraham was shocking tonight, he's just missing too many simple enough chances. He had a header straight at the keeper at 1-0, had he scored that it would've made it 2-0 and basically have killed the game off.

I don't like slating our players but we need a striker who can just score pure and simple. Our strikers are woeful!

Let's not even mention that Batshuayi miss towards the end!

Bobby you have hit the nail on the head.

I've been saying for awhile that Abraham's conversion rate is awful. He misses 3 or 4 sitters before he scores a goal. That was the same story last year at Villa.

In the space of 1 week he has missed sitters against Newcastle and Arsenal. He missed two headers today.

As for Batshuayi he missed but that grin on his face afterwards killed me.

Abraham's needed dropping for a while now but it's pointless when the backup striker's worse and can't even score a 3 yard tap in and smiles about it. A better striker will help but not as much as people think, we have no creativity. All we do is cross because that's all we're capable of doing with these players.

LB90 you have just said what I posted earlier. That grin on Batshuayi's face after the miss made me think he had committed a foul or was offside. But when I looked at the reply I couldn't believe it.

I couldn't agree more with your post.

CFCShak, exactly!

If we could just have a striker who would score nine times out of ten it wouldn't fix all of our problems, but it would go a hell of a long way to making a start of fixing them.

Look it's all relative, but I thought we did create far more clear cut chances than against Newcastle, and so we should with 11 against 10. At one stage the stat was 11 shots to 0 in our favour. So our conversion rate worryingly poor, but so tonight was our general game management/ composure at key moments. Not sure you can fault Kepa for the goals though ta risk of my sanity may look at them again!

CFCShak yep to say i was angry about that is a huge understatement. That miss helped cost us the win, if you're 3 or 4 up then fine but in a London derby when we're only 1 goal up and you're supposed to be fighting for the starting ST position to do that is embarrassing. He's a character but he's another player i'm looking forward to seeing the back off.

100% agree Bobby. For me Abraham hasn't shown me enough and I am not convinced he can lead our attack beyond this season. As Lampard said after the Newcastle game there isn't much more they can do on training pitch and the players lack killer instinct.

LB90 that grin will live with me forever or until when he leaves Chelsea.
