Can we get over the whole season being declared void. It WONT happen. If we can’t resume playing behind closed doors (which I don’t see as possible) then a line will be drawn and the season will end. No relegation and 2 teams up from the championship seems the most likely result. In that scenario Liverpool would likely have to ask to be given the title by a unanimous vote.

I agree fuser, void is used to often.

We all know Liverpool were going to win the title. But most Liverpool fans I know don't want to be just given it if the season doesn't finish. They know there will always be the small print next to the title, and most back their team to win it next season.

I’m not sure why using the term “VOID” is in some way wrong?

I just can’t see the season being completed but I agree Liverpool will be the moral champions.

Because void should only be used if they effectively wipe the season from the record books, which they won't do.

As for the title, I think the players deserve being awarded it, the fact that it can even be discussed when it stopped with 9 games to go shows what a season they had. Whether I would celebrate it as a fan if we were given it I am still unsure. Part of me only wants to see us `win` it but the other half thinks it would be harsh on the squad to have their achievements mean zip.

I think I would have us down as champions this season but as a club be humbled that we were awarded it by fellow clubs, no parade and milk it with merch etc. but then next year try prove it beyond all doubt.

I would rather like Liverpool to be “given” the title they deserve but IMO you can’t be given a title without relegation and promotion.

Again, IMO starting a season behind closed doors is still a risk to health, so I just can’t see it happening.

I think the season will be declared VOID but how they would then compensate the likes of Leeds would be problematic.

{Ed002's Note - Who would be "giving" the title to Liverpool? There is not now and never has been an option to make the season "void".}

I have never used the present or past tense. I’m giving my opinion about what will happen in the future.

I like the term “given” as well because I can’t wait to take the “p” out of my scouser supporting mates!

{Ed002's Note - You seem to have a problem answering simple questions.

What’s the “simple” question and I will endeavour to answer it?

{Ed002's Note - Who would be giving the title to Liverpool?

30 Apr 2020 12:42:24
No one. I’m using the word “given” by way of a “p” take to all my mates who are Liverpool fans. I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear in my previous response!

WYred makes some good points. Players do deserve some recognition for what was one of the best seasons, complete or not, in Premier League history.

I like the point that if named champions then they would have to be humble, and gracious, winners. A good quality in all who win. I'm trying to think of some players who might move on and not get another shot at it with Liverpool - Lallana, Milner (does he have another year? ) - can't think of many others.

Thanks J.

I think Milner may have one more year but his return to leeds will dictate that.

Lallana may end up staying depending on the market.

But the players, imo, would have earned the right to be called champions. My preference would always be completing it on the pitch, but the players have families etc and shouldn't risk it if it isn't safe. It also has to be in line with government advice, you can't allow football back if you aren't allowing gatherings over x amount. It would send out the wrong message.
