Interesting article on Sky Sports about the potential of big JT returning as a defensive coach. What are peoples thoughts, Eds you are welcome to comment.

For me im against it. Yes he is a legend, but too many shepherd's often results in confusion through a lack of clear direction. Would love us to make improvements through signing a leader on the pitch as opposed to having too many leaders on the touchline.

Agree0 Disagree0

Against having one of the most world renowned defenders of his generation, the youngsters (Tomori, Rice maybe) learning from a man that’s been there and done that. I’d take JT back in a heartbeat. But isn’t he looking for a managers job now?

Thats another point. He has his own ambitions (im sure to manage us one day), would this not create an awkwardness in the dressing room?

I, like most fans. would have JT back in a heartbeat but my guess is his next job will be as a manager.

Having been a good player in the past doesn't necessarily mean you'll be a good coach though.

Think of we do get a new face for the coaching staff it should probably be one with some experience to help Lampard.

It looked like JT was having a bigger influence on Villa than Dean Smith. I fully expect him to be offered that job the next time Dean is under pressure.

Love JT but look at Villa defensively this season. He couldn’t help there could he. A good defender as a player doesn’t automatically mean a good coach. I’d go all out for Martin Margetson who is goalkeeping and set-piece coach at Swansea and for England. Two areas we desperately need coaching in an he is the best in the business apparently.

Would like SH back honestly.
