Milan want Bakyoko, koans with option to buy €35m / surely we need obligation to buy rather than another option which may not be taken,

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably just the start of a negotiation Matt.

I’m taking very little notice of the transfer noise at the moment and just trusting the usual sources, obviously including the Eds.

12 Aug 2020 13:22:30
Milan will never purchase him these Italian clubs are a joke with loans all the time. It needs to either be an obligation or sell him for about 15-20 million this window. We need to cut our losses and just get players off the books.

12 Aug 2020 13:49:26
Definitely Matt, it should be with an obligation to buy. I don't think we could get as much as 35M€ for him. Anything near 25M€ would be fair.

12 Aug 2020 16:16:41
I would hang for €50mil for him, £20mil for Drinkwater and €35mil for Michy.

It’s just numbers and paper talk to me. I think the club will use its best endeavours to get the best deals.

12 Aug 2020 17:03:14
I’ll have whatever this Tom has been smoking above 😳 I’d be happy with a 1/ 3 of them prices you’ve just quoted.

12 Aug 2020 17:30:27
It’s meant to be tongue in cheek WC.

All transfer fees, buying or selling are not in the control of posters or fans.

The financial affairs of our WONDERFUL club are best left to the club’s management.

The buyer has a players value, we have a value players if a compromise can’t be reached then it’s no deal. The rest is just fantasy football and media noise IMO.

Oh and I don’t smoke but I do like a few large vodkas and as far as I know there is only one “Tom” unlike some posters who keep changing their name for some bizarre reason!

12 Aug 2020 17:19:44
You think we could pull off one of them sales for those fees Ed?

12 Aug 2020 18:34:32
Oh there is certainly only one Tom, hope you are well.

With regards to fees we pay and receive, I'm with you, as long as the price isn't grossly exaggerated, if the manager wants the player and we can get him then I can't say I'm all that bothered about whether we've overpaid or not, it's not like it truly affects us really.

Some will never be happy though, overpaid, wasted money but would then moan if we miss out because and not being prepared to meet a fee.

Come on The Chels.

12 Aug 2020 18:55:16
Exactly Spizzy.

Let the club handle the financial side of things and let the fans have their individual dreams!

Fantasy football has a lot to answer for IMO.

Can we ask Milan for Romagnoli in exchange ;)

12 Aug 2020 21:36:11
Sounds like a paint Dan. Is he any good?

12 Aug 2020 21:41:02
I’ve now checked him out Dan and looked at some Clips. He looks top class and left footed, so I can now add him to my wish list. Good shout IMO.

12 Aug 2020 22:11:00
You checked him out in less than 4 minutes Tom?!

Don’t know about you but I for one I’m certainly glad we fans aren’t the one picking who the club go after. That said Romagnoli is on my list of « how I wish » as well.

12 Aug 2020 23:39:54
I’m on the ball ELI.

I’m not a fan of clips but he does look good.

I also admitted I had only looked at KH on clips as well. It’s not a good way to judge a player but life is to short to look at every game in full.

Torres, I have looked at over a games and for me he looks the part but it’s all about opinions.

Out of the two who would YOU prefer?

12 Aug 2020 23:45:27
On your other point ELI about who the club should pick or not pick as targets, I take your point on board completely.

We have had bad and very bad windows in the past but if we sign 5/ 6 players in this window it would be fantastic if they all worked out brilliantly but that’s very unlikely.

All clubs have some signings that just don’t work out. I hope that doesn’t happen but we have to be realistic.

13 Aug 2020 00:27:28
Well Tom, honestly I have to say Romagnoli. He is a solid defender and a leader as well. Been a fan of his for a while and I remember we were heavily linked to him once upon a time. To be honest I pride myself with being a football enthusiast ( a mini Ed001 if you will) in the sense that I used to watch as much football especially teams with interesting players and managers/ systems. Back in my hay days I could easily tell you the strengths of certain players and teams. (Almost how i fell upon this site a decade ago now) but alas I barely have time these days.

All that to say I have unfortunately never seen Pau Torres play but I hear he’s a good ball playing defender and he’s quite tall as well. Don’t think we are looking at either of them at the moment. I’m not sure about Rice though as a Cb, let’s see how things play out.

13 Aug 2020 07:28:12
I agree about Rice ELI.

I think it’s hard to imagine the club would sign a player for a position he has played so rarely but I guess stranger things have happened.

{Ed0666's Note - you could do worse than Rice. He’s already a very good midfielder and learned people in the game feel he could be equally as good at the back which makes him a super commodity. Also he’s besties with Mount so he’ll assimilate very easily.

13 Aug 2020 09:28:38
There certainly have been good midfield players who turned out to be brilliant CH’s that’s for sure.

I think Bobby Moore, Rio Ferdinand and JT all had spells in midfield at some stage in their career.
