Seems like Marina and Lamps are really considering to sell Kante to Inter.
It would be a good bit of business if we got around 70-80 million £ for him.
He is past his prime and with that kind of money we could bring in Rice and a GK.
Thoughts?

Honestly, I think it's ridiculous mate. He's been out injured for most of the season and people are saying he's past it?
He's still our only world class player, he'd walk in to any team in the world. Regardless of injuries or being played out of position he's still the best CDM in the world by a long way.
What is he, 29, with the engine he has I reckon he still has 5 years at the top. We need him now more than ever with all this attacking talent.

If the club need to raise 70m that badly for Rice and a GK then they should of got those in first rather than spending it elsewhere.

People answer me this. Before his injuries would you have ever considered replacing him? And its not like he's done his ACL and will never be the same.

No way . Kante has got 3 to 4 years at the highest levels left.

He is once in a generation player . In his position he has no competition.

If lamps needs his job secure and we are to win the PL and UCL . It Kante who will be key . No one else but kante.

If he wants to go . Then it's another question.

I'd say at even 200 mil Chelsea should not sell kante.

I'm happy with kepa if that means kante stays.

If Kante stays- good; if Kante decides to move on- good; if Chelsea decides to sell Kante to bring in more players- good too. If selling Kante will give Chelsea a top young CDM (like Denis Zakaria) and a top young goal keeper (like Donnaruma) then I support Chelsea sells him cos he’s just at the right selling age (29years) . Obviously Kante is the best playing as a central defensive midfielder but with what I have seen of Denis Zakaria, I think he too can do very good job too (playing in that defensive midfield role) if Chelsea decides to go for him.
I heard that Inter Milan will look to include player (s) (Skriniar, Brozovic) in any deal for Kante; I could be wrong but I think Skriniar would have been fine by Chelsea if It’s certain that some of our centre backs (like Rudiger and Christensen) are leaving or will leave but I guess that might not be the case. Anyways let’s see what will happen.

{Ed018's Note - I think it’d be a mistake to sell Kante at this point, unless he wants to move on. I think he will be needed in a big way this season if Lampard ends up playing Mount and Havertz as the number 8’s. }

I think you guys are not thinking realistically. Kante going to turn 30 in a few weeks, he has been getting injured a lot more recently and for someone with his style of play, that's really concerning. But the most important factor for me is that we are never going to use him again in a 2 man pivot defensive midfield role, like when he played with Fab or Pogba or even Matic. So I think with the style of play we have in mind, and all the other reasons, it would not be a bad thing if we sell him and bring in someone like Rice.

Spot on ed18. He's put best player when fit. The mind boggles when I hear talk of us cashing in. It's so short sighted. If we want to improve in the defensive phase then he is vital.

I'm with Ed 100%

Lets put it differently. Would you have sold Lampard at 30 because he was only scoring 10goals a season instead of 20. He'd still be World class and still add something to the team. Or would you have sold JT at 30 because he was slightly worse playing in a 3 man back line. Its still JT right.

Its still Kante. He's still going to sit in front of that back 4, protect it, intercept, chase down to cover the full backs, nick the ball back, drive us up the pitch. Doesn't matter if he has Pirlo next to him or Peter Pan.

What does he do for France, Pogba doesn't defend, he frees Pogba up and he'll free up Havertz and Mount the same.

Come on man. You're happy to have Mount and Havertz in a two? Who is doing the above. That's not their game. No point talking about Rice, if we sign him its to play CB so then what. and that's a massive If.

Don't mind ashk121 and other names he uses here to pursue "Kante out for Rice" campaign. He's obsessed with having his compatriot play for Chelsea regardless.
Like Ed said, it's a mistake to sell Kante unless he asked to leave. A player can have a season hit injury but return to his best after. I don't read much meaning into that than just being unlucky with injury this season.
