Klopp : were not like other clubs we do things differently.
* spent half a billion ad LFC boss
* selling academy player to buy proven players
This is football now and isn't a problem and issue or anything to usually mention, but Klopp needs to remember he wasn't near the league title until £75m cb and £75m gk £30m Fabinho £55m keita, there recruitment has been superb, just needs to keep quiet talking about teams like Chelsea and Man City spending, I see us at the Klopp phase where salah and mane came in, we're in right direction, but it won't be until next year we've bedded and dealt with gk cb issues. Gutted we're not facing them after a run of games and at full strength, pulisic is big miss and ziyech is one I'm really excited about,

{Ed0666's Note - well excuse me Martin you’re not comparing apples to apples my friend. Yes Klopp has spent money probably nigh on half a billion smackaroonies but pails into insignificance when you compare it to the 2billion you boys have spent.

Yes he spent money to achieve success but it was a necccarry evil to compete. His preferred method is to succeed via coaching and unearthing gems. As for selling academy players Hoever was sold because he had no imminent path to the first team in sight that’s fair play. And let’s not talk about selling youth and academy players for financial gain because you are the world champions at that.

By the way fact check. Alison wasn’t 75 million, Fab wasn’t 30 million and Keita wasn’t 55 million.

Enjoy you’re weekend.

Well that's one way to look at things but you guys just dropped 30M€ on Thiago and 45M£ on Jota, after Kolpp said Liverpool didn't have any money and after he said their club is different etc etc.
Meanwhile we spent the money we saved through sells, basically we spent the amount of 3 windows in 1 window.
In the duration that you said we spent 2 billions we have been the most successful English team with a net spend in the positive or near it.

Also I think it's good to mention that we were the only team in England that kept all our employers on full pay and helped NHS financially. Something your billioner owner didn't do.

Klopps a great manager but he don’t half talk a lot of s**t! You’ve just got to take everything he says with a pinch of salt because 90% of the time it’s a load of rubbish!

19 Sep 2020 19:51:49
That’s what I’m saying 0666, it is part and parcel, and although you guys were first to spend a billion without winning the league and invested ( and invested well ) is fine, but it’s his comments as if he brings through the youth and doesn’t spend. This talk of being a deferent club, but your not, your apparently cashing in on a youth player to get a 29 year old in, Jota I’m pushing back Harvey Elliot, so Klopp needs to come away from the comments and say it how it is, it’s funny how this window it’s roman splashing the cash yet you boys are investing the countinho money and other revenues, media seem to forget hazard morata Palisc money has funded this, not roman signing personal cheques,

{Ed0666's Note - I think Klopps comments alluded to the fact/notion that we spend within our means and don’t have oligarchs or sovereign funds propping us up. Let’s just agree to disagree chum because we’re gonna get bogged down in semantics and before we know it well have bought the title again.

19 Sep 2020 20:33:18
Two days ago you had less money that Burton Albion, sure they’d love to splash €60m on couple players, like I say, teams need to invest and need not only players to suit system but with that quality to make a difference, Liverpool’s owners are as rich as roman, there’s no hiding from fact he bought us from brink to one of best in Europe or at least to the top table, it’s just the comments he makes commenting on us and city, Klopp needs to stop pretending he raises these kids from birth and buys like other teams that to win, anyway, score prediction against an injury hit Chelsea lol.

I’m not a fan of Mr Klopp.

I find him just as annoying as Jose.

He has done a good job with the Scousers and I think he should just focus on managing his own club and it’s transfer policy.

Those of us who look at other sites have read the Eds comments about Mr Klopps behaviour in the transfer market.

I may be wrong but I think he was called a “cheat”!

Agreed Matt, "those in glass houses" and that. You can't take away from Liverpool how good they where last season, but come on, if you want to win, you have to invest. Facts and figures aside, if Liverpool didn't get VVD and Alisson across the line, then they would not of won anything. Same as City and their investment, as with MU under Fergie (in the later stages (Van Persie) ) and us in recent years. No doubt they are on the crest of a wave and will probably get 3 points tomorrow, but come on Jürgen and Ed666, take it for what it is. We have a successful businessman as an owner who is grasping an opportunity in the market, you would do the same and have in a way "enter Thiago and Jota bye bye Brewster and Wilson".

Matt's comments were not a personal dig, but mere facts.

Why is my reply to 0666 not being posted? Not abusive, doesn't have bad language?

{Ed018's Note - I left it for him in case he wanted to comment. He hasn’t looked at the post yet. It’s still waiting for him}

Have you lot not learned you can't talk sense with Liverpool fans. Ed 0666 you're talking rubbish, Chelsea v Liverpool net spend in the last 10 years is 7million in the difference in Liverpool's favour. Klopp was talking pure bollix and you know it.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure why are you only taking the next spend back 10 years? Does it suit you’re narrative? If that’s the game why don’t we roll it back to when Roman took over in 2002. Between 2002 and 2004 you’re net spent was circa £300 million on 22 players. Since 2002 to date you’ve spent on average £20 million a year more than us each season. You’re net spend from 2002 to date is £375 million more than ours. So yes I’d endorse and advocate Klopps musings in that we cut our cloth differently and cannot compete with oligarchs and sovereign funds.

19 Sep 2020 23:47:34
Not that I care much when other managers talk about us. However, I would like to reference a point you have made Ed006.

Ed0666's Note - well excuse me Martin you’re not comparing apples to apples my friend. Yes Klopp has spent money probably nigh on half a billion smackaroonies but pails into insignificance when you compare it to the 2billion you boys have spent.

You say klopp has spent nigh on half a billion yet we have spent 2 billion. That's not apples for apples as comparing one managers spend (Klopp) to the entire roman reign is not exactly like for like.

I think we can all agree you need to spend money to remain competitive. In an ideal world all your youth players turn into world beaters but its just not the case. Bring on tomorrow that's all I can say.

{Ed0666's Note - I appreciate you’re post JCFC please see my reply to dadubliner which will hopefully answer you’re post also. Tommorow will be fun. What’s you’re prediction? Will Werner teach us a lesson?

A comfortable win for THE MIGHTY BLUES.

To be honest, I think we win 2-1 with Mane being sent off for continuous diving.

{Ed0666's Note - Maybe Kepa should try diving sometime.

I really don't go in for this whole net spend malarkey. Its just a way to justify/ disguise how much a club spends.

Our clubs are run differently, and that's OK. We have both enjoyed success under our respective models. Debating money will get us know where. Now a decent debate would be who you would prefer up top ed0666. Werner or fermino?

You still have the advantage over us let's be honest. Just a shame the game has come this early when where not up to full fitness and missing players.

{Ed0666's Note - no debate mate, Bobby all day long. He is a magician mate.

20 Sep 2020 08:21:52
Let's see if your opinion is the same at the end of the season mate 😉.

20 Sep 2020 17:34:02
It's not that it suits my narrative to go back 10 years. How far do we go back, 20,30,40 years? The point I'm making is right now, Chelsea is no longer a club that's not self sustainable and needs money pumped into it by our billionaire owner. Back when he Bought us FFP wasn't an issue and we didn't have either the fanbase or infrastructure to compete at the top, now we do as a result of our many revenue streams. You'll find Liverpool were in a similar posting for the past 30 years until new owners came in and allowed you to break your transfer record 3 times, so what are you and klipity klopp on about. Our transfer funds this summer have come from sales.
