I know lamps is a Chelsea legend but think he showed us far too much respect today and was ultimately at fault for our win.

Yes Christensen didn’t help either but with indecisive kepa he was caught between a rock and a hard place.

Werner was isolated and Havertz is not a winger, but Werner will score you goals this year.

You have the best midfielder in the world but play him out of position and put Jorginho in there instead who’s only strength is penalties.

It looks like you have fixed the kepa issue but still think your light in defence.

Overall im glad we have that game out the way as by mid season you should click and have a top side.

Either way the record books says we got 3 points and we can move on to the next.

Agree2 Disagree0

WYred, there wasn’t a lot in your performance today that wasn’t expected. You played ok but until the sending off (totally justified) I thought we looked comfortable.

I’m sure we have a lot more to come and I remain very confident we will finish above the red Scousers.

It could be you get docked points because of Klopps strange approach to player recruitment. I think he has been referred to as a “cheat” but I think he is an ok coach .

20 Sep 2020 21:24:18
Agree mate.

20 Sep 2020 21:33:28
Spot on, problem we have is Lampard seems immune from criticism, he was too cautious / scared and the kante issue has gone on for over a year, whole world can see it, we will give you boys a better game at your place,

20 Sep 2020 21:59:15
Matt has been far from immune from criticism.

I was very critical of our shape team selection and defensive organisation last season.

Lamps is certainly not the finished article and he will make mistakes but I have seen a better defensive shape in particular when seating up to defend set pieces.

I think any shape issues for this season can only be judged when all the players are fit.

I do have worries over some of the team/ player selections but I don’t see them in training and again this may well be resolved when all the players are fit.

I would also add and I think you have mentioned it before, I’m not a fan of playing players out of there natural position.

20 Sep 2020 22:03:08
Lads we have 5 players to comeback. Save the criticism until later.

20 Sep 2020 22:08:17
Tom b, the majority of teams are lacking pre season so all that matters is the three points.

You may be unimpressed with us but we keep churning out results.

Also I am all for backing your own team but think you'll be third this season whilst your team gels, next season you'll be challenging imo.

Its true that klopp likes a little chat with players beforehand but its wishful thinking hoping we get docked points.

MM I agree that you will and as I said happy we have you out the way at the bridge as that will be a tough fixture for many this season.

what a load of rubbish. We matched a liverpool until the red card.
The ref runied the game. Was a yellow all. day long. keeper had that covered.

20 Sep 2020 22:40:20
Unfortunately Wheely the keeper having it covered is irrelevant. It was a Red but I do agree before the semi gets off I thought we were comfortable.

Maybe a bit timid while giving to much respect to the Scousers!

20 Sep 2020 22:45:41
WYred. Klopp is not talking to these players as if it were a dating site. As already referenced it’s called cheating and may well of caused your club some reputation and financial damage.

Strange, I think you will finish 3rd but it’s ok because you will be in front of the Blue Scousers who will finish 4th.

{Ed0666's Note - can you imagine Klopp on a dating site? He’d break the fuc*ing internet.

21 Sep 2020 01:09:07
If matching Liverpool is sitting back with 11 men and not creating any chances of your own then maybe I'd agree. Liverpool were working their way into the game and were finding themselves in some good positions. As for the Red card it was blatant. By no means were Liverpool excellent and yet throughout the game they always seemed to be in the driving seat. I agree with WYred in thinking it's rather optimistic hoping that Liverpool will be docked points for tapping up, if it did happen perhaps then I wouldn't rule out Chelsea finishing higher than LFC this season. As for Lampard perhaps he'd do better working on his tactical prowess rather than being unprofessional towards an opposition manager on the touchline; leading to then being forced to make a (rather embarrassing) public apology.

21 Sep 2020 07:06:08
With those teeth Mr Klopp could only attract women who wear dark glasses all the time Ed.

I didn’t see anything in the Liverpool first half performance that made me think they are unbeatable. This despite us being to timid and offering to much respect. After the sending off we got our backsides smacked.

As for Liverpool being docked points, that was meant as a joke but calling Mr Klopps behaviour as tapping up is more of a joke. Call it for what it is lads, stop defending it.
Also how does that compare to Lampard having a pop at your manager and back room staff? I don’t remember Lamps apologising for that incident but if he did, then fine but will Mr Klopp give an apology about his “cheating”? No chance.

Your team may well improve through the season but not as much as we will IMO and I remain confident we will finish above the Blue Scousers.

21 Sep 2020 07:09:02
Matt and Wheely, I would like to apologise. My replies to you were written late ish and as usual I didn’t check them. I hope you got my drift.

COME on MY MIGHTY BLUES.

21 Sep 2020 07:32:51
Lanpard is doing somewhat better than Klopp did at this point.

I thought he'd nailed the tactics, we drew them out and they really created little. Leaving space to exploit.

Liverpool are class and we were clearly worried about the ball in behind, again Lampard was correct on that.

Two weeks in with no real preseason, bedding in New players.

I saw enough to be confident.

21 Sep 2020 08:18:53
'Problem we have is Lampard. ' thought it was James going to sleep, Christensen out of position, no fight in the team as a whole. The midfield etc etc, Scouser in disguise?!
Totally get everyone feeling glum but I think we just got beat by a better team.
I feel confident Lamps will get there and now has the players (most of them) to do so.
To the Scousers, Lamps wasn't forced to make an apology, he chose to calm things down and make the game about the teams. Everyone has faults and Klopps is he is a hypocrite (transfers) and was being an arrogant bellend continuously telling Lamps to calm down, he deserved to be put in his place. You have only won ONE title after all and all need to get back in tour box a bit, I know that's hard when it's been 20 years waiting to get out.
Like someone else said, humility in defeat as well as victory.

I enjoy being quoted Viking. Most enjoyable.

Winning our FIRST Premiership made us a little crazy for a while. I think we should humour them a little bit. Haha.
