I really have a hard time understanding why people think Mason is starting ahead of CHO in his position on the wing! And why Lamps is preferring Mason to Callum. This is just not right. Mason plays a completely different role compared to CHO. I think it's just ignorant to assume Lamps has a preference and puts Mason in just because he likes him.

Agree1 Disagree0

I’m not sure using the word “ignorant” is a good way describe posters who are just presenting a view Ashk.

I also can't believe for the life of me that some of the so called fans want Lamps out just after 5 games into the season.
He should at the very least get 3 years.
I think they are just there for the fun times. We kinda have very disillusioned fan base.

It's all been as much about sending a message to Hudson-Odoi as anything else. Lampard was clear that Hudson-Odoi needed to step it up in training, what message does it send if he's being openly vocal about that but still starting the lad?

I think the management of the lad has been good.

I wasn't referring to posters on this site Tom. This was a response to those "online pundits" of the Twitter that call themselves fans!

I agree with you J. Callum needed to show up and he did. And I personally think if he put his head down and work on his game he could be an important player for us this season.
I'm actually ok with going on loan, but the talk of selling him and saying Lamps prefers Mason to him is quite baffling for me.
I really dislike this kind of behaviour and attitude towards our young players. Just adds an unnecessary pressure on them and brings wood to the fire that media creates for Chelsea.

Understood Ashk.

I agree about fans/ posters who want shot of Lamps now but it’s all about opinions.

Mind you, if we get beat by Palace I think I might throw a sicky!

There was an article I read today which stated a section of the Chelsea fans have turned against Lampard. TBH There is an uproar evident on social media platforms too.

I'm not 'Lampard out' by any stretch of the means. However, despite Frank being a great player for the club and arguably my favourite player, my loyalty is with the club and not any single individual.

I'd like to see Frank given a fair shot, I'm not naive enough to think that he will get 3 years because that is based on results and Frank knows that which is clear from his press conferences. If he was to be struggling by December and we are nowhere near the top 4 then he would be in danger. Legend status doesn't matter, no sentiments. Chelsea comes First always.

Now Ash you call some of our fans ignorant in relation to Mount and you say 'I think they are just there for the fun times. We kinda have very disillusioned fan base' in relation to Lampard. I assume your talking about our fans here?

I don't usually bother with this stuff like but these remarks are bang out of order. I think your walking a slippery slope here. I always say if you can't respect opinions of others then don't bother giving your own. First things first, accept we are all fans and we all love the club. Secondly, accept that people have opinions which may be different to yours. Thirdly, don't forget your not always right with your opinion. Your not the ultimate fan here. There are many variations of a fan.

There is a large group of fans that want Lampard out and they have valid reasons. Again, I'm not Lampard out but I'll admit he has faults so his open to criticism. That doesn't imply these fans are plastic or are here for good times only. There are a large proportion of fans that have issues with Mount. Again, they have reasons because Mount again is open to criticism too. Not everybody share your opinion in Mount and so don't call them ignorant for that either.

I get it Tom. Everyone is entitled to have his/ her opinion and there is nothing wrong with that, but the anger in some of these social media posts is just ridiculous.

03 Oct 2020 07:48:57
Nice post Shak.

I get seriously p•ssed off with people having personal pops at players the manager and our club on mainstream and social media.

Some of the comments are outrageous.
I do think there’s a level of hatred, envy or even “ignorance” that is hard to explain.

Opinions and criticism should IMO always be given in a constructive way but we no longer live in an age were that happens. That is not an ageist comment, some of the worst people sitting near me at the Bridge are fans of my generation.

I can’t imagine the crap the Eds have to but up with and they are giving a free service that offers a fantastic insight into the world of football.

My biggest moan is about pundits and some of the press but maybe I’m just a sensitive soul.

03 Oct 2020 09:24:30
I know what you mean Shak and believe me, if I'm saying that those statements about Mason and Lamps is out of ignorance, is because I have seen some really really angry people without any sort of reasoning and argument that just want to have instant success and just want to pour their inside anger and negativity onto other people. In fact there is an article from Liam Twomey which was exactly about this matter and I found it to be quite accurate.

Tom, I absolutely agree with you. The level of ridiculousness is through the roof, and it starts with the so called pundits with their so called hot takes. I think it's just for attention and trying to be bold.

Criticism is fair, but out right bashing is not.

03 Oct 2020 09:58:17
Shows how sensitive I am, I find it unnecessary and slightly insulting that our own fans refer to our legend of a player and now manager as “fat Frank”. When that comes from our own supporters I find it amazing!

03 Oct 2020 10:19:07
I agree Tom, constructive opinions and criticism should be the way forward. I enjoy hearing opinions/ criticism of others in that sense and I will always respect them because we are all fans and we will have different ways of showing our support. No right or wrong here. Some are more passionate about different aspects of the club than others.

No worries Ash, not a personal go at you mate. Your generally constructive with your opinions.

The lampard and Mount debates are causing a lot of issues within our own fanbase. Its a shame tbh.

03 Oct 2020 10:57:22
Non taken mate. I understand you and agree with both you guys to some extent.
I personally think some of fans tend to transfer their anger onto players and managers which is just so negative. Maybe C.V. had played a part too.

04 Oct 2020 01:45:47
I literally think the Mount thing is because of his work rate. It has probably been a safer move for Lamps given our frailties at left back. I think if Chilwell would of been fit from the get go we might have seen CHO played in front of him more but having him and Alonso/ Emerson down the left is a disaster as it would be all out attack.

It seems like CHO is off on loan which I feel is a massive mistake given he is our only real out and out winger apart from Pulisic. If he gets injured it’s back to playing Werner out there where he is wasted or Mount but he doesn’t offer that ability to beat a man and drive down the line.
