I've said for a while that Tammy isn't good enough for Chelsea and he demonstrated this again yesterday. I'm glad many are starting to see that at best his a back up to Werner and Giroud.

He has poor control, poor first touch, very immobile and cannot hold the ball to play 2nd balls. He isn't the quickest and for a tall man he is so poor in the air. He seems to spend most of his time rolling around on the grass than his feet.

Based on his performances from the backend of his purple patch last season, would any of you recommend that we sign him as our striker if he wasn't already our player?

Agree0 Disagree0

No I wouldn’t sign him but he’s a good bench option for now. Giroud should be a starter for me until he leaves. When Giroud leaves I think we’ll need a new target man the question is who? Haaland obviously, but I’d rather keep that bike Mino Raiola away from the group than cause problems.

Ed I just wondered what’s you're thoughts on Raiola? Very unlikely Chelsea to be after Haaland or for him to come here but is he worth the headache just for Haaland to play for us? Or for any other quality player under Raiola for example Donnarumma?

{Ed001's Note - if it was me I would not touch any of Raiola's clients. It doesn't matter how good they are, it is just not worth the hassle. It is a team game and you need the entire team pulling in the same direction, that is why his clients are to be avoided and why Frank did the right thing to get Barkley out of the club as well.}

I fully agree Ed 👍🏻 Haaland is world class already and will be a shame to miss out on but I’d rather not have him than deal with Raiola. Quite a shame though as there’s not a lot of goal scoring target men about who we could get once Giroud left. Tammy can’t hold the ball up so we need someone once Giroud leaves.

I had no idea Barkley was represented by Raiola.

{Ed001's Note - Barkley isn't, I just mean he was a bad apple and you can see how the atmosphere around the club and performances have improved since he was sent out on loan. He was just an easy example of the kind of difference a problem player can make.

As for Haaland, if his interest is in his career over money then he wouldn't be a Raiola client.}

Ah right I’m with you now, seems as though Haaland could be a problem himself. I like the way Frank is bringing the right ego’s in this season too. We really do seem to have a good group. A lot of that comes from our youth academy who to be honest have been brought through with great attitudes when you see the like Reece and Mason. Looking forward to Gilmour and Gallagher beings he next two.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure what that Gallagher will become. He runs around a lot and clearly has ability, but I do wonder what he actually achieves in doing so.}

I don't understand the attack on Tammy. He is a young lad, still learning a few things and he has loads of potential to be world class. He already has 5 goals, 5 assists and 3 penalties won. He literally just had two average games and everyone is going for his head!
He certainly needs to work a bit more on his finishing and positioning which I'm sure he knows better than anyone and he is already working on them. Also he is learning from Oli Giroud.
Tammy is and will be a very important player for us.

Well he has scored in his last two games which is more Kovacic Mount and Havertz have.

There’s no attack I like Tammy but it’s no crime either to have an opinion where I don’t think he has the potential to be world class. Whereas I think with James, Mount and Gilmour it’s different and they will be class. We all have our players who we like better so don’t take it personal when we think someone won’t make it. I hope Tammy proves me wrong but I don’t think he will.

I think Tammy will be a good premier league centre forward for someone like Villa just not Chelsea in the long term.

Tammy is 23 years (only a year younger than Werner) . If he was going to be world class then we would have seen signs by now, don't kid yourself. I Don't see any problems with constructive conversations. Of course his a decent backup.

My question was if he weren't an academy lad and if he wasn't our player then would you beg the board to sign him? My answer to that is 'no chance'.

Agree with your last post Graham. 👍.

Spot on Shak, all this stems from him being an academy player. I’m a massive believer in saying things as they are and that’s not not bad towards Tammy. He’s a good striker but not for a team like Chelsea who have ambitions to win the biggest trophies again. He’s a poacher and that’s it for me he’s not a great passer, he’s awful aerially for someone 6’5 and he can’t hold the ball up very well. He always looks out of his depth against big teams also. As a sub he’s a good option but not to start in my opinion.

09 Dec 2020 20:53:13
Again I agree 100%, spot on Graham. One thing for certain, Tammy has been given numerous chances and im sure he will be given more chances in the future. I personally don't think his good enough, far too anonymous in matches for me. My prediction is that eventually he will be sold.

tend to agree. would he get in Arsenal, spurs, city, utd or liverpool team, I think not. like u said, villa, palace would suit him. I don't think even West Ham would consider him in any Rice deal.

09 Dec 2020 22:17:50
Thats it Sid, he doesn't make Arsenal, Spurs, City, Liverpool or Utd. He won't make Everton or Leicester neither. For all these team his backup. West Ham would never let Rice go for Tammy. No chance.

You don’t think Arsenal who haven’t scored a goal from open play in like the last 15 matches would take Abraham. The same Arsenal who just made Auba their highest paid player only for him to now barely be able to muster up a sweat.
I’d probably argue that Abraham was also more consistent than Martial at least with his work rate.

Ed I beg to disagree that we should avoid players represented by Riola no matter how good they are. I wouldn't mind Halaand irrespective of Riola as the guy is a natural goal machine and will be for many years. I think it all depends on the personality of the players in question.

{Ed001's Note - that is your choice, but one good player being disruptive is enough to ruin a whole team.}
