I think this game vs Morecambe was much needed for Frank Lampard and a 'WIN' is all that matters.
I felt we were largely poor and we would have struggled against a Premier league side today. Our build-up play is far too predictable, we seem to always play to the wings and then whip crosses. I know 2 goals came from crosses but surely we need to able to penetrate the opposition through the middle. Our midfielders are good enough to play through the middle. I think the recent slump in form ties with the fact that recently we have been far too one dimensional.

5 Goals and 6 Assists for Havertz since he arrived. Takes time to find form, overcome C.V. and adapt to a new league. Despite going through a barren run and not playing much, his stats are better than the other midfielders. We need the other midfielders to chip in with key passes, assists and goals.

Agree with that Shak. I was saying only last week that since the Everton game the defenders in possession are not playing that fizzed pass forward between the lines, Silva does it the most, but this pass has to be received on the half turn by the receiving midfield player who in one movement spins and attacks. Chelsea are Constantly going across the back 4 allowing the opposition to set and wait. Chelsea need to shake it up. Really getting worried around Werner he is Torres all over. The boy got a diagonal today absolutely never controlled it, let it bounce up and finally gs e up on it stumbled and allowed it to tamely bounce out of the park. He had a go at the corner flag to try and show some competitiveness.

Really difficult to break team down through the middle when they have two banks sitting really deep. There was a few attempts at slide balls through, but the timing and / or pace of the pass was just off.
Was pleased to see players willing to take shots from outside the box, Mount obviously getting his goal and Ziyech was keen to try his luck when the chances came about.
Werner getting a goal, Havertz getting an assist and goal, Ziyech looking good and getting an assist, whilst Hudson-Odoi continues to look sharper and made a good run for his goal. There were definitely positives from today.

Agree with Shak, the real test is the next few Premier League games. If we don’t get 6 points from the next three games we are in trouble.
