This isn't comparing Lampard with Klopp etc. But Liverpool haven't scored a goal in their last four league games! Haven't scored a goal! I know they've had injuries, but to be in that is just another indication of what a crazy season this is.

Can coaches, players or teams be fairly judged this season?

Or is it simply a case of having to perform in the conditions you find yourself in, and its tough luck that they find themselves in these conditions?

Everything you have posted around Liverpool is valid. As you say no goals in 4 games, and I think they have more pain to come, shipped 7 remember before the VVD injury, United shipped 6 at home, City 5 at home, Chelsea can’t buy a win since mid December but I think will have a better second half to the season. City now look steady, resolved the love in with John Stones and that has helped them and the player. I remember thinking when Stones was allegedly tagged for sale at £20m that Chelsea should snap the player up. I posted yesterday that at United it ain’t Ole that is doing anything different it is the signing of Fernandez that has taken them from also rans to contenders (help from refs as we’ll mind you) Chelsea FC and the fans need to think very carefully before sacking Frank. Imo if they sack Frank the club are back on the merry go round of “hire a stranger, win, lose, sack” Their is no clear club identity being forged, no Chelsea way. Chelsea have done that and they have enjoyed great success, but there has been a frustrating disconnect along the way. The board took a chance on Frank we all know that. I say as a Chelsea fan that we stick to the original plan of Chelsea people making Chelsea decisions, in this case Lamps and Petr, the club continues to have the YA players seeing a clear route to the first team with the manger of the first team supporting that ethos. That’s healthy, sustainable and admirable. But, and this is important, the club continues to scout and shop at the elite level of football with a sprinkling of the very top signings in world football thrown in. I think it is a brilliant ambitious and modern vision of where the club want to go and how they want to be perceived. Let’s take whatever happens on the chin this year it will get better. If Lamps does his three years and it is mid table mediocrity then at least we will know we supported the plan and Frank 100%.

Hi J, whe what you say is factual the major difference is they have different approaches during the matches but end up not scoring while we are the same over those matches. Slow, predictable and no real effort to change things.

There's an argument for changing your approach, there's an argument for sticking to your guns until you (hopefully) come out the other end. In either case it's not working for Liverpool or us at the moment.

One thing I will add is it's always difficult to go back to back with titles. Some fantastic league winners have fallen off the next season, that probably isn't helping Liverpool either.

I don't see any improvement from Lampard, and I'm very worried by his apparent reluctance to take responsibility whilst solely blaming the players. But, I definitely think we need to see this season out, as some reports have indicated we will, and if needed hit reset in the summer when more. options will be available to us.
