One thing I'll say in Lampard's defence is that the saddest thing for me if Frank is indeed sacked?

That 42000 will not get to show him their support get behind him and motivate the team. He had barely half a season with supporters before lockdown. Its a once in a lifetime thing to have a club legend in charge so sad.

The above will be a regret but I suppose top 4 is the minimum standard. If we miss out on top 4 or the gap gets bigger then I'm sure we all know the fate regardless.

Yes Shak, hopefully the fans would have got behind Frank and made a difference to at least some results. I suspect that absence of fans has made a huge difference to LFC at Anfield in recent games, and been a major reason why this has been as all are saying such a 'strange season' in terms of results.

Never thought of that Shak. I agree, it is a sad consequence of this wretched C.V..

I'm sure the Shed and Matthew Harding will be singing his name throughout that first game back, to show that his standing and status at the club hasn't been lost, no matter what happens.

That's right Shak. It makes a huge difference and Lamps has already talked about it.
It would have been great to have fans at the bridge. Hopefully they will be back soon.

All good points lads. But, never say never. “It’s a funny old game” as someone once said. If Lamps is let go and he goes on to enjoy great success as a coach, he’ll be back you can be sure of that. If he doesn’t and falls into that famous category of great player but couldn’t coach then the gamble will have failed. Timing is everything in life, and maybe becoming Chelsea manager during a 12 month transfer ban and with the club having sold the best player to be followed by 18 months of lockdown football would be pretty testing.

What if fans were letting there frustration know and boo’d, him and players, wouldn’t it be worse if he was boo’d off after a game.

I'm not obsessed with this promoting the youth system over the club development football is a competition and the best players always prevail you must'be one of the best to play for Chelsea and not just the coincidence if being enrolled in the academy set upurrespecttive of having the requisite talent it's what we're suffering with Frank now because he's a legend. U can bet you no manager would still be around in Frank"s situation especially after cherry picking players around the Europe bit when RA is still running the club arsenal did it with Wenger' and it backfired and they are still paying for it. tgere are reaasons for transfer in football. tge spube ooyr most lefe daey were signed from Eve. Outside EPL and I you don't fix what is not bad even if the fa tries to put restrictions in the homegrown phone kicuestgey will be in a collusion course with the fufa an eufa because your it will endafer the excitement in the gamme and unfinfe the economic rights of players around the world iitball has no exclusive nationalityis a global trade.

{Ed001's Note - you are wrong, there is no 'collision course' with FIFA nor Uefa. Not even sure where you dreamt that utter nonsense up from. There is not even the slightest bit of reality in it. It is purely wishful thinking on your part.}

Thanks guys. I'm 100% certain the Shed and Matthew Harding would have been signing his name out aloud. Its a regret for sure. The players would not have been giving the lacklustre performances as there would be added pressure to perform in front of fans.

Doesn’t say much for our youth policy when Tomori didn’t get a chance in a leaky and slow defence.

22 Jan 2021 15:18:52
Jimbo, I would have preferred Tomori to stay but we don’t know why this decision has been made.

I guess it might have nothing to do with his ability. Anyway, good luck to him.

22 Jan 2021 15:37:08
Yes Tom it’s a mystery to me as long as it is for objective football grounds. We have form for letting good players go early in their development. In any event it will be good for him to get game time in a different league and Italy is the place to learn how to defend.

22 Jan 2021 16:19:52
Let’s hope it doesn’t come back to bite us Jimbo!
