Good to see Lampard giving some barbs to the media today, especially that mob at the Athletic.

Agree3 Disagree0

I posted something similar earlier, not sure why it didn't get accepted.

Anyway, when Liam Twomey says stuff like this:

“It seems like it’s a broken squad, miserable team and terminal decline"

Then he has no right to be upset when Frank answers his question with authority and force.

22 Jan 2021 16:08:55
I enjoyed it “J”. My guess is people will say it’s a sign of panic but I think it was way overdue.

Pundits, Journalists and social media in general make statements about people as if they weren’t real people. If that makes sense.

22 Jan 2021 16:16:03
The latest edition of the Chelsea fanzine c**** has asked the club's board to stick with Frank Lampard, saying: "We at c**** urge the Board to give him the time required to overhaul, rebuild and re-establish the club as one of the top sides in the country. "

That's more like it.

22 Jan 2021 16:32:06
Blimey Ashk, that lot don’t normally pull any punches.

Very interesting.

22 Jan 2021 16:47:12
Personally, by Lampard giving barbs to the Journalists (Liam) will only go against him unless performance levels are improved. Usually when you pick a fight with Journalists, you need to be able to back your talk with performances otherwise the next reports will be more damning.

I'll be honest Liam definitely talks like a fan who's more 'Lampard out' for more clicks. His tweets are very unprofession. I fount the recent Havertz quote shocking.

22 Jan 2021 17:05:41
Very much Tom.
Every major fan organisation have supported Frank and showed that they want our board to give him more time.
That's the proper thing to do IMO.

22 Jan 2021 17:49:34
But it wasn't a fight Shak. Their article after the City match was quite shameful to be honest and Liam Twomey's recent posts on Twitter are just unprofessional.

Also Lampard's comment was objective in my opinion. He also said that their praise when we were having a good run was not quite accurate as well.

22 Jan 2021 17:49:57
Shak, you make a good point about how journalists and commentators might react to Lampard comments.

For me it’s like dealing with a bully, in this case a verbal bully. You can just keep on ignoring it or you fight back.

History dictates it’s never good to ignore bullies.

Some of the stuff on social media is a disgrace but I guess we are not forced to read it.

22 Jan 2021 18:47:27
The whole problem with the Athletic is they're social media, not journalism. Lampard was bang on with that point, it's all just reactionary click bait aimed at getting subscribers.

Lampard's comments weren't like the infamous "I'd love it" Keegan rant, or the "fact" Benitez rant. It was controlled and to the point.

I see so the board are supposed to fund a novice manager and his mates while they learn how to do the job?
Hope these fan groups have deep pockets to fund the losses which result.
My suggestion is they save up and send the manager and his family on long holiday.

22 Jan 2021 19:04:45
Historically when you take on the press its never a good sign especially if results don't improve. Liam has in all honesty has been very CRITICAL of the manager and players recently. But I think unless results improve then these guys will spread negativity at a greater scale now.

Tbh, I think the press and pundits have generally been very lenient on Frank if you compare his treatment to Arteta or Ole (start of the campaign) . The latter two were being crucified weekly. But Liam has been using his Twitter very negatively. But I reckon this will spiral out unless things improve now!

22 Jan 2021 19:11:34
In relation to the fan groups, let's say RA will ignore all calls for Frank whether positive or negative and take it with a pinch of salt. I think we know historically what Chelsea is about and his ambitions won't change. But if reports are true then his willing to be patient so its upto Frank now.

Its a result game for Frank. He needs to sort this out and put a run of wins together. I hope for the teams sake that the players show more passion and energy. The recent performances paint a different story on the field. Nothing to do with Frank's tactics, the players just ain't trying and whether that's down to not believing in them anymore is another question.

22 Jan 2021 19:53:59
When the majority of players are under performing it isn't about being lazy.
The general performance levels have declined rather than improve.
This happens when the players lose confidence in the bloke leading them normally.
Lampard was one of those players under AVB so he should know.

22 Jan 2021 20:26:07
I assume board and Roman knew they were hiring novice manager.

I’m pretty sure Lamps can afford to pay for his family holidays.

Without doubt the performance levels have declined. I hope a corner can be turned and turned quickly but it certainly isn’t a given.

22 Jan 2021 20:57:15
I am sure the club and for that matter the management are quite capable of ignoring opinions on social media platforms as they presumably know the truth of what is happening.
They seem to have acted very decisively on numerous occasions irrespective of the fans view.

22 Jan 2021 21:31:26
Strasbourg, do you think it might have something to do with the amount of games being played, injuries, new players trying to gel with no room for too many training sessions in a short pre season and in between games? Do you think maybe players are just regular people that are worried, bored, stressed with the global C.V.. Unable to see family and friends abroad. Do you think maybe fans missing from the stands might be a factor? No course not, it's FL and the players downing tools. GET A GRIP.

22 Jan 2021 22:13:28
I think the majority of your points apply to all the club's in the PL.
Integrating new players is something that happens at all clubs but generally they tend to improve as the season progresses.
Currently we only have a few players performing at an acceptable level with even Chilly a player who looked supremely confident at the start of the season looking shakey.
Check the league table this wouldn't he acceptable with last season's squad let alone after spending £200m.
I am not interested in who the manager played for previously only that he is capable of managing a highly talented squad effectively.

23 Jan 2021 00:14:13
Great Post strasborg.

23 Jan 2021 00:15:57
If that was the case dadubliner all teams would be on the same points because all your excuses effect every team.

23 Jan 2021 06:46:18
No one person is effected by one thing exactly the same as another, we're not robots.

An example would be a young boy coming over from another country and having to start a new when all this is going on, I'd expect they'd struggle more than some others.

23 Jan 2021 07:48:58
Because all teams have tried to integrate 6 new signings into their squad this season. The table does show this, by your logic Ole is a better manager than Klopp if points, the league table and form in the last 8-9 games is what were judging everyone on. The point myself and others are making to your nonsense posts is that it's too soon to write this team off. They were always going to struggle at times this season. The test will be bouncing back, that is FL responsibility for sure. Although the recent form is very disappointing and some tweaks during games might have salvaged some points, I'm still not going to assume the players don't buy into the coaches ideas and want him gone. It's idiotic to assume this.

23 Jan 2021 16:35:03
I think you have your head in the clouds and are trying desperately to hang onto the belief that a novice manager and his novice mates can turn round the situation they have created.
We are over half way through the season and getting worse not better.
If the problem isn't the management then why are so many players well below there best?
The only question is how long the club let's the situation continue.

23 Jan 2021 17:30:12
Dadubliner my posts aren't nonsense there facts mainly
I have never said I have wrote the team off by the way just the manager
I support Chelsea not Lampard or any other manager that is clearly not up to it, if our club isn't performing to the best of its ability I'm entitled to my views and we clearly aren't.
