Very nerve wrecking display. Honestly I hated it
We created nothing for all the space we were handed
Was waiting for that equalizer and it almost came
how many times haven't we seen this before from chelsea during the last two years
Maybe because of TT influence but we got the win
and 3 points is what matters.
Sheffield also did not get too many chances, except for a poor penalty call from McBurnie and few crosses + panic in the last 5 mins
Praise where due, thought Christensen was good, made no mistakes and always his usual calm self on the ball. Rudiger always playing it too safe, which invited pressure from Sheffield. In general our left hand was poor
Not sure if due to Chilwell's position. Rudiger seemed unhappy at times and frankly it got better after Alonso on for Chilly
Mount good, but also a few disappointing touches/ give-aways compared to his usual high standards. Kova now please improve your skills in the final third
then game would've been killed off
Werner again showed progress.
Last point, Azpi did not look good imo. Slowly he is proving he's not good enough anymore.

Good post Hermann mate.

I agree with a lot of your post hermann.

Fans keep writing off Dave any then he has a couple of stormers.

Our first was a lovely team goal and a joy to watch.

Thanks guys. let's enjoy 10 out 12 possible points and with a win v Newcastle we go into top 4 (from how I do maths) . And please TT. don't play Rudiger again (although I know this is unlikely)

Although dominating possession we have been close to dropping points to late equalisers in last two games. Spurs and Sheffield both creating clear chances as wevseemedcto tire a bit. Such small margins so often in football. We could also have lost to Wolves if ball has dipped under our bar rather than landing on it. Agony making especially in last quarter or so. Somehow our forwards have to start scoring more goals even if Werner has won us two crucial penalties.

Chelsea are on the cusp here guys, sleep walking back to Sarri’s team. That was hellish tonight. Get Alonso, Rudiger and Jorginho out of the club. They are either too slow, too negative or too safe or in fact all three. They set an unhealthy tone and tempo to the games. Also consider there might be big bucks up for Kante as European clubs still think he is the spark of two years ago, those who see a lot of him know he is on his way down. That would help finance a tough athletic HM to help bed in and mentor BG as Kova is also about 1 season from him contributing to the future. Dave is over the hill, Giroud has been flogged and is almost in his knees during games. The YA players are terrific, Werner a touch better tonight, even in his interview he was brighter. Still on the toss of a coin for top 4 imo. Which means TT could be sacked in the summer.

I though the Wolves game was very Sarri like Stephen but after a slow start I was generally pleased with our movement off the ball.

Let’s hope TT is our manager next season because that will mean we have been successful.

Omg that's a great post.

A lot of negativity above : we all have different opinions about players: I think James is going backwards, I would keep Alonso as a squad player and get rid of Zouma, Abraham and Ziyech as well as Rudiger and Jorginho.

Good post Stephen, as always.

We haven't been playing good at all, in fact it's been so for the past 4 games, but since we are winning and everyone else are dropping points left and right, there is no complaints by anyone. I guess football is a game of results after all.

This has always been a run of good fixtures for us. It will get tougher and then I expect we drop points.

Jorgi/ Kova pivot has always worked against weaker opponents, but play them against someone a bit better and you'll see what happens.
Rudiger too. He is ok most of the times but then again there is always the chance of some kind of mistake leading to a goal.

Disagree Jimbo. James back in the groove after a couple of dodgy weeks. Imo it is Chillwell that is putting in worrying displays. The elephant in the room is of course the Declan Rice question? If not him then who? The failure to sign a tough athletic HM, is one of vanity as was the sacking (MG, BB) which will be Chelsea’s undoing yet again as the club cannot win the BIG tournaments. Chelsea cannot be given serious consideration as PL or CL champs with Jorginho, Rudiger, Giroud, Abraham as first XI players. The spine of the team is not good enough. When Petr, JT, Lampard, Drogba are your spine you can get away with clowns like Rudiger and Jorginho. I can watch Xheksea fall short as they are’s mincing forward, I. e. BG is in the team, he is as good as Jorginho for instance. Also can I just say as an overall summary TT is 2 points light and Chelsea should be in the top 4 as we speak. I will take the line that many of my fellow Chelsea fans took with the previous incumbent, the football is not good enough nor is the points totals for the games TT inherited.

Tuchel inherited a disjointed and demoralised squad which he has managed to revtitalise somewhat.
Confidence levels are slowly returning but it will take a while yet before the more creative side of our play gets back to its best.
Our starting wingbacks yesterday were poor albeit they worked hard like everyone else.
It emains to be seen if Reece can adapt his game because his strongest suit currently which is his crossing has few targets in the box.
Midfield isn't ideal but Tuchel has created more passing options for Jorghino hence his improved form and Kova is being encouraged to use his pace to break the lines more regularly.
A remarkable change in two weeks.

Spot on Stephen. Fully agree mate.

This bounce that we are seeing is more a direct result of the teams we are playing. We were on a 17 game unbeaten run before against such teams.
This TT love in is a bit premature IMO. Getting the points is good, but we could potentially sit at 7th or 8th again if Everton and Villa and West Ham win their games.
