What player do you regret the most that left chelsea
Mine would be robben.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:15:46
De Bruyne for me.

26 Feb 2021 11:29:18
Yeah, would have to be De Bruyne for me too.

26 Feb 2021 12:06:48
Jimmy Greaves, Peter Osgood, Terry Venables, Butch Wilkins, Robben, KDB and Salah would be on a very long list but Jimmy Greaves the most.

26 Feb 2021 13:22:08
Robert Fleck, Christ Sutton and Winston Bogarde 🥸.

26 Feb 2021 13:53:09
Stop bringing up Bogard Jimbo. It’s giving me nightmares.

It’s hard to imagine how the Fleck deal come about, given how we sold Jukebox to Spurs and replaced him with Fleck. Another fantastic bit of business by Mr Bates.

Actually all three names you mentioned I think came under the Bates regime? Some people think we make bad signings now!

26 Feb 2021 15:28:02
To be honest I think De Bruyne is as the biggest loss considering what a great player he has become. Obviously missed Hazard but we got a huge amount of money for him to soften the blow.

26 Feb 2021 16:18:27
KDB for sure.

26 Feb 2021 16:19:30
I think you've already identified the biggets losses, and De Bruyne would also be top of my list. Am trying to think of others I though had left who could still have been v good for us.

Juan Mata - creativity and gaols in and around the box

Maybe also: Matic given our problems with physicality in midfield
AND
Costa: ok he was a problem personality, and I know he hasn't been v good since, but we have yet properly to replace him.

Among youth/ young players: Declan Rice and possibly Bertrand Traore.

Among trialists: Mbappe!

{Ed077's Note - What about Salah and Lukaku??

26 Feb 2021 16:57:28
Lukaku was a big plus him going for me. Only good enough in his own mind.

I agree about Salah but to be fair to Jose he did look very light weight in the few chances he was given.

26 Feb 2021 17:08:14
feel like that's harsh on lukaku. an underrated striker imo at times and id say he's up there with the best in the world atm.

26 Feb 2021 17:00:16
Salah already mentioned by others Ed. Lukaku a reasonable shout though!

26 Feb 2021 17:19:21
Always thought he was a bit of a flat track bully and he lost me a bit when he thought he should be picked over Drogba.

{Ed077's Note - Lukaku has scored more goals than any of your current strikers. Maybe even more than all 3 of them combined(?)}

26 Feb 2021 17:42:07
Doesn’t say a lot for our three strikers current performance.

Did Werner have a better scoring record than Lukaku prior to joining us I wonder? I’m sure someone will have the stats.

Anyway, I will admit to my biased opinion when it comes to Lukaku. So much so, when it was rumoured he might return I’m pretty sure I expressed my negativity on this site.

Jiri jarosik.

26 Feb 2021 18:13:15
So many to choose from: but add Alan Hudson to the list - a player who should have gone on to have a stellar career but booze intervened.

Also: Dorigo / Townsend / Nevin / Venables / Speedie / Butch / Le Saux - off the top of my head.

Also, although it was before my time, it still riles me to this day learning as a kid that Bobby Smith and Jimmy Greaves, who were the strike force that won Spurs the double, started out and played together in Chelsea's reserves!

26 Feb 2021 18:36:47
I always say this MDW.

Please my fellow Chelsea supporters, the recent docu on Jimmy Greaves is well worth hunting out also some his exploits can be downloaded.

Also just look at his career goals/ game record. It is amazing and for Chelsea it is off the charts.

26 Feb 2021 19:30:09
And he used to get to the Bridge by bus along with the supporters- that was when footballers were highly paid workers not millionaires.

26 Feb 2021 22:48:48
Obviously Lukaku, KDB, and Salah. Ridiculous getting rid of them an unreal to not atleast bring back Lukaku.

27 Feb 2021 07:41:17
tal ben haim.
