Didn't think the performance was that bad yesterday afternoon. Controlled the first half, and should have been a couple of goals to the good.

Jorginho made an obviously key mistake, which he will always be judged on. He seemed very isolated though and, even with a better touch, his options would have been limited with two United players closing him down. I actually thought that he was controlling the midfield during the game, and it took a lot of character to step up for the pen afterwards too.

Thought RLC had a poor game, decision making (when to carry Vs play the ball) was poor. Ziyech had one of his better games and Pulisic looked good off the bench too. I am hoping to see Saul get an opportunity at LWB against Watford. I unfortunately do agree with the general consensus on Werner, he must do better (and fast), but I will add he's just come back from injury and has never looked good as a lone central nine.

“J” the point you make about the Werner injury is fair but all goalscorer forwards I’ve seen have a sixth sense about putting themselves in scoring positions. I’m hoping that sixth sense is something a player can learn.

I agree about Ziyech.

In my opinion goalscoring, as you describe, is a natural ability, not a learnt one. You either have it or you don't, and I don't think Werner will ever be a natural finisher. He can be a good player for us, he's been a good player for us, but not as a lone number 9.

He's been at his best playing off another striker, making runs into the channels, specifically off / down the left. The big question is do we have better or can we get better for that role? Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic offer more for me, and someone like Chiesa (just as an example, not saying we're interested etc. ) would offer a lot more.

That’s another reasonable point about Werner playing off another striker “J” and as you say he isn’t really a No9.

TT has also said about him lacking game time so maybe I am being a bit harsh on him but I’m not convinced he has that instinct that all top goalscorers seem to have.

Jorginho is boring and Chelsea are boring compared to City and Liverpool. Not to mention 7 home points dropped btw.

As I understand it we had 23 shots yesterday, all very boring.

I can only assume you didn’t see the games against Leicester and Juve. All very boring.

We bought Werner on the back of him scoring a ton of goals in the German League and for Germany so to suggest that he is not a natural goalscorer is questionable.

I just don't get it - he can't still be going through a period of lack of confidence in front of goal that has lasted a year and a half!

I appreciate how much running he does, how hard he tries and his general attitude - but we have to bite the bullet and sell or use him as bait.

I am convinced that he will return to Germany and score a ton of goals again - and he will always be welcomed back to Chelsea when returning in another team's colours.

Chelsea have scored more goals than City and won more games than Liverpool this season, whilst sitting at the top of the EPL and our UCL group. All very boring.

I assume only attacking football is entertaining, watching Silva, Rudiger etc excel at defending is boring?

We may not win the title but we are not boring: we simply lacked a cutting edge. I agree with J I enjoyed watching Silva at the Bridge yesterday: a masterclass in defending.

You don’t think Chelsea will win the title?

30 Nov 2021 12:06:36
Stephen, I don’t know if Chelsea will win title; it’s very tight; I don’t see any team running away with it. Too close to call at the moment. Obviously, I hope we get the PL.
