{Ed018's Note - I think he has been good this season, I don’t think he pairs well with Jorginho though. And I’m not sure he’s good enough to be 1st choice but I’ve been pleased with him and he’s good enough to provide good depth moving forward}

I agree Matt. We weren't bad at all but the mistakes we make continuosly and the lack of a clinical finisher still bother us significantly.
I have also been pleased with RLC. I think he can be a very good weapon for us but he needs to polish his moves a bit.

I thought RLC not bad today, and occasionally very good though also with possibility of getting dispossessed in dangerous places on pitch at time. No doubt ghstcwe miss Kante and Kova. But feel RLC a more useful squad member now.

My terrible over the top mood will slowly go and I’ll post something more sensible at some point but I am concerned with our attacks as a whole, mistakes are mistakes But our creative players have been chillwell and James, big worry,

RLC just needs to improve his decision making as to when he carries the ball and when he plays it. That'll come with more game time though. I also think he'd benefit from a midfield three, rather than the two he's in.

Matt, I’m with you it’s like vacations it takes me 24 hours to get over it. I disagree with most posters about RLC, he just doesn’t bring anything to the team. He has had a long period of being injury free and should be at his peak. Without sounding like a broken record, we lack creativity and goals in midfield whoever is fit. As for Mendy as I have said before he is a decent keeper but not top class, his footwork, distribution and judgement can be very poor. We have definitely hit a poor patch in terms of performances but there is still all to play for.

Tom I can’t help making sweeping statements when it comes to Chelsea : usually in life, I’m more circumspect. It will be interesting to see if Mendy is dropped given that he will be off in January and Kepa could do with game time.

I think dropping Mendy will do nothing for him Jimbo.
Kepa can play the last champions league game and the league cup game and if impresses while Mendy is away for 4-8 weeks, he will deserve to keep his position.
I’m biased but I just can’t watch Alonso when he is trying to defend. His lack of pace and defensive awareness also makes Rudiger look even worse.

Tom, it’s not just about today’s performance for Mendy he has been wobbly for a while. He has also had the luxury of not having too much to do until recently. TBH I have never thought that Mendy was much better than Kepa and sometimes as a coach you have to make a point. I’m not a big fan of Alonso but who else is going to play LWB, hard as it is to say but Dave hasn’t got the legs anymore and clearly TT doesn’t fancy Saul.

Let’s be fair to the lad, he has made some fantastic saves and his handling is a lot better than I thought it would be but when the ball is at his feet it’s a big, big worry!
I have brought the subject up about his dodge foot work several times and again against Watford it was occasionally scary! His performance today with his feet does not surprise me at all.
Today is just the first day it’s cost us points.
