Understandable that Mendy will be picked for the game against Leeds but Kepa was very good tonight with some superb saves and looking very assured with the ball at his feet. It certainly gives TT a decision to make and Mendy cannot take his position as a given.
So pleased for Werner. We all know he works hard and tonight was no different. His second goal was excellent. I have recently questioned his instinct to find goal scoring positions in the box, tonight he showed that he has that positional instinct, he now has to do it week after week.
Pleased Lukaku got his goal and he was generally ok for me.
Christensen is a player who I have recently praised but tonight he was very average. He gave a performance that lacked positivity.
Other players were average.
We have plenty of fixtures over the next few weeks and I would love TT to play a settled back three if nothing else.
There are four teams we can't play in the next round and another (BM) who I guess we would rather avoid. The other three teams I would fancy us to win comfortably.

Tom, they way we are playing I wouldn’t fancy us against any of the teams in CL. However, I expect us to improve when players come back from injuries and TT has put a candle up their a. e. The CL can go on the back burner for now, we need to concentrate on the next 5 league games up to the end of the year. Kepa should start at the weekend.

I won't play kepa ahead of mendy except for mendy's absence. I still feel kepa is not a enough good back up. Mendy's recent loss of form just temporal and has earned the position over last seasons performances.

I’m not sure anyone has suggested dropping Mendy but performance like that of Kepa’s last night night is good for him and the team.
Also it’s good because we will need Kepa between the sticks for maybe 6-8 weeks very soon.

A stable mendy will stop their last goal but like on numerous occasions like fa final kepa shows he doesn't have goalkeeper basics. I always panic kepa Is about to be tried. His positioning questionable.

I think problem for Kepa, who does seem to have got back much of his confidence thank goodness, is that he is not quite tall enough to command his box in way that Mandy has been able to most of the time. On the other hand Kepa when confident is - like Mendy at his best - a superb shot stopper, and perhaps a fraction better with the ball at his feet, always been a Mendy weakness though often hidden by strength of our defence. Don't think Mendy should be dropped on one poor performance.

I think Kepa isn’t as commanding in his box as Mendy and certainly suffered from chocolate wrists for a while but I also think he is a lot more assured than Mendy with ball at his feet.
