Respect everyone’s opinion but to question TT is laughable. Led us to champions league. The way he’s dealt with Lukaku situation is completely fair. The player undermined the manager and brought a lot of unwanted pressure onto the club in an already difficult time with results and injuries. Deserves to be dropped.

Tuchel, and the club, have shown that any player can be dropped for any game at anytime. It's an important message for the whole of the squad - don't step out of line.
He had to be dropped, even if it led to cutting their nose off to spite their face, it had to happen.

We can’t not question a manger because they won the CL, di matteo won champions league and was sacked 6 months later, we could of used a fired up lukaku cause LFC wernt great, I personally wouldn’t of dropped him but it’s fine now, spurs next then city so we need him and Werner and James back asap,

Can't remember I was so happy with the manager at our club.
Probably Conte, but TT is actually much better at handling the interviews and how he dealt with Lukaku is amazing.
Club should make him play in games but hold his wages for a month ir two!

I actually wouldn’t have started him today either way. It would have suited their cbs to face that sort of player. They struggled far more with being closed down and runners in behind.
No point starting with the what ifs…what if he had a bad game? People would be saying he wasn’t trying and we should have dropped him.
Let him apologise, both internally and publicly and we can go from there.
Probably a fair result based on chances for both sides, although I think we played better over the 90mins.
I see this years manager witch hunt is In full swing, shame on some folk.

Haha I’m not calling for him to go, but why can’t a manager be questioned, I know city fans that have questioned some of peps decisions, some of which cost them the champions league final, liverool fans were questioning klopp playing midfielders in defence last season instead of 3rd / 4th choice actual CB’s, what a ridiculous thing to say, go and follow someone else, I call it as I see it, tuchels doing a good job, was a brilliant job last season, injuries and back up players or lack of goals are costing us, is tuchel the right man for us, yes, is he too pragmatic and could we be more attacking with the players / money we’ve spent, yep, has he played this lukaku mess right or wrong, who knows, time will tell, but we are the fans of this club and can question anyone we want from medical staff to the owner and board,

He or she is also allowed to question any mangers decision or team selection. Only when it becomes personal do I have a problem. Constructive criticism should always be welcome.
In my opinion Matt is a passionate supporter who contributes a lot to this site and his views are as valid as anyones.

I wouldn’t have dropped Rom. I would have told the media he has apologised and got him on the pitch. For me this situation has now been escalated and turned into a bit of a PR conundrum. It’s no worse than England captain “Sir” Harry Kane’s shenanigans or Kepa. Re the game. Firstly, red card all day. However, Thoroughly enjoyed the forward play and positive intent from Chelsea from the get go. I actually think that is Chelsea’s best home oerfotunder Tomas. and how Stamford Bridge reacted to the spectacle. I hope that today’s midfield stay as first picks. And I hope that Chelsea play in this manner for the rest of the season.

Tom well said, how can a Chelsea fan go and support another team : it would be like like dumping Debbie Harry- showing my age. On the Lukaku debate, I think he should go, this was not a typical footballer slip up: falling out of a nightclub. He made a a considered and conscious decision to give this interview; he was not caught on the hop. It was disrespectful to the club, the owner and the supporters, I have no idea of his motivation but I don’t see a way back.

Sorry Matt, don’t quite understand your point if you are responding to me. I did question TT’s response to Lukaku, I said it was symbolic particularly if he is quickly returned to the fold. Lukaku’s behaviour is reprehensible: how can he continue to play for the club. TT and Lukaku are two discrete issues. We as posters are entitled to have opinions about players and managers as long as they are reasonable and temperate. I myself hold heretical views about certain academy players who I think are overrated but that’s the point of a discussion forum to expose each other to different opinions.

My comment was about rolling up his sleeves. Yes he could of done it today if he had apologized to the fans and club first. Yes he may be calling TT tactics but he has disrespected us all.
Apologise, take the clubs punishment (what ever they deem fit. If its just missing the Liverpool game so be it)
Then pull his sleeves up and get us as close to city as possible. If he doesn't want to be here then he can go.
Just on the game its probably the most exciting game I have watched us play in awhile.

This whole Lukaku thing is unnecessary noise for us. Bad timing and of course his comments were disrespectful even though he just said what he felt.
All in all TT was right to drop Lukaku and I think it's a very positive sign that the club has supported TT.
I think the door should be open for Lukaku to go wherever he wants.
