Zero challenge by Christensen and Silva doesn't pick up the danger of Benzema.
Similar for the second with Benzema getting in between Christensen and Silva.
Sure they remember all the issues came from Benzema.

RLC has given the ball away 5 times at least. Pulisic a weak game. Mount has at least been busy and had some good moments. Our best players have been Havertz, Dave and Reece James I reckon. Benzema and Courtois the main difference between the sides though Junior and Modric also impressive at times. We have missed key chances that could have tied this up.

Tom I think you are over optimistic don’t think we can overturn two goal lead- just as well they have done away with away goals rule. I have never rated Mendy at best bang average keeper: Courtois would have got a hand on both opening goals. Dave, Kai and Reece did their best. RLC should be glued to the bench. I was annoyed by Lukaku going up to Courtois at the end of the game and slapping his back- his heart is not with the club we need to get rid of him. Real were the better team: no complaints about the result. It’s not all over but an important uphill struggle. We need to concentrate on ensuring a top four place.

Jimbo, I didn’t have a great feeling about this match but I thought we would still win it.
I know I should be optimistic after that performance but I just have feeling and it would be very Chelsea for us to perform at there place.
I thought RLC gave us some legs when he came on but his control and passing was average and that is the key for any midfield player.
I was also critical of both Christensen and Silva for there first goal but generally we were far to open in midfield and didn’t pick Benzema from deep. So it wasn’t just them two.
For me, it was obvious we needed an extra player in midfield.

Tom, well as always after two defeats we have to put it behind us and move on. Most of our players were poor to average tonight and TT must also take responsibility. Important game at the weekend to restore confidence. Real deserved to win tonight but if they get through I don’t think they are good enough to go all the way.

Jimbo, fans and posters will understandably pick out player performances for the last two games and some have been very poor.
I am definitely NOT saying sack TT or being critical of our general playing style but like all managers when they are successful they get the praise and so when the get it wrong they deserve the criticism.
For me tonight it was obvious we were short in midfield and getting pulled all over the pitch. We needed an extra body in midfield.
Also, like you I’ve been saying for ages that Mendy with the ball at his feet is frightening.

Tom, it’s not just with the ball at his feet that’s frightening: it’s him in between the posts. This is a keeper that his coach, quite rightly, can’t be trusted in a penalty shootout.

Will see what TT has in his locker in the next game kepa got dropped for a like for like incident and a few disappointing displays which is about right for mendy now.
TT got it wrong again I know it’s easy for me to say now it’s Over but the midfield where just out bossed and even more as benzema was dropping in there as well to get the ball. I have got a funny feeling still though that we are still in the tie feels like Napoli all over again.

I was actually really looking forward to the second half. I could see a magnificent turnaround happening, and I mean magnificent, but that’s football. The third absurd goal wins the tie for me. I don’t even see a victory in Madrid never mind a 2 or 3 goal victory. With regard to personnel. Need to off load the players who have had enough of Chelsea or the PL. Rudiger, Christiansen, Lukaku. I have always had an issue with Jorginho. But in fairness to him he did contribute to the CL win last season. But for me he is poor. Ziyech and Werner,

Ziyech, Werner, Pulisic, Alonso, Kepa, Jorginho can all go. Rudiger, Lukaku, Christiansen, Dave are at the end or want out. Chillwell, Gallagher, Gilmour, Rice, and a WC CB and CF to come in? With an eye on the GK situ, maybe the club have had their £20m worth out of Mendy. With new owners That’s a bit of a turnaround……. CAN IT be done whilst staying competitive.

It looks like we will be owned by an American consortium of some sort, so I can’t see Pusilic leaving but as I’ve said many times I can 8/ 9 players leaving our first team squad.
I think it will an interesting window for whoever is in charge and of course we have the issue of players wanting to play in a World Cup year.
