If we had beaten Brentford and we'd be 9 points behind with a game on hand. ?.

{Ed014's Note - yeah I bet they’d be shitting themselves!

Agree0 Disagree0

Add in the December games when we struggled with injuries and C.V. and we might be top. Very small gap between us and Man City/ Liverpool.
The gap to Arsenal is huge, they are turning into the new Spursy. lol.

The truth is City and Liverpool are a level above us: the table and results do not lie: how we close it, I have no idea.

{Ed014's Note - ask G8 he’s got a massive list of limp excuses! ?‍♂️

We were the best team in the land upto December, Champions of Europe, winners of the Super Cup, took Juve to pieces. The injuries and C. V hurt us. It happened to Liverpool with injuries last year. We are close, very close. Pundits drool over City and Liverpool but we are only 10 or so points behind with a game in hand! I would be very concerned if I was an Arsenal fan, they are really towards Spursyland.

In a one off game we can beat both, the quality is there.

The main thing City and Pool have over Chelsea is consistency. Week in week out they perform and get results. Chelsea over the past few years have had a period of a couple of weeks where they play horrible, lethargic football. If you want to win a title over 38 match weeks, then you have to be consistent.

It's actually a good perspective.

A few weeks back there was plenty of negativity on this site bleating in about us making no progress.

We clear HAVE made progress and closed the gap.

A way to go, but we're now clearly the third team behind two absolute power houses.

That's hardly a progress Nathswindon.

Well I suppose we are not scrambling around for fourth place but in terms of challenging for the title no real progress in closing the gap.

The gap is much smaller than in previous years that’s for sure. I don’t think we’re in the same category as City/ Pool right now but we’re also a level above the rest, kind of in our own category for the time being. I think had Chilwell and James been fit the whole season we would be even closer to the other two teams. I’m personally pleased with the progress made under Tuchel and believe next year could be the year we get that title back.
