Tell you what Rudi going is massive blow, shows where we are as a club at the minute and the likes of him leaving is making a massive statement towards the club.
Where we are at the minute still carrying the likes a Sarr Alonso RLC Kennedy Jorginho CHO Emerson and still giving 1 year extensions to silva at 38 and Dave. Now I know silva has been ok this year but come on the players and defenders we have had and let go.
Most people on here are mount lovers but the real fact the two teams were chasing in Liverpool and city he wouldn't get on there bench yet he's are future.
Rudiger leaving is a sign I know players come and go but we should be able to keep hold of world class plays and TT saying I've tried? trying playing some attractive exciting football that fans want to see and players want to play you could see in the last month rudi shooting from 40 yrds through frustration because we can't break teams down because we are so predictable and the football is slow and boring that's on TT and his style how many more have got to go.
Good luck rudi for the future thanks for your effort and service.

I agree about the players who move on Nib.

They leave with my thanks and beat wishes. They are now just part of our trophy winning history.

Nib you need to take a break.

It may never happen.

I think your very harsh on tt and regardless of were we are as a club rudiger has been good for 12 months of his 5 years and has now decided he wants a new challenge, that doesn't mean the club is losing its way he's been outstanding and european players rarely ever turn down the lure of madrid which is probably were rudi is going,
the recruitment has been awfull the last 5 or 6 seasons that's why were so far off the incredible city and liverpool teams were witnessing.

Players come and go Nib, I'm not bothered by Rudiger leaving. We have tried to keep him and he decided to go.
Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

Ashk, you’re right if Rudiger goes it’s not the end of the world: he has been excellent in the last 18 months in a back three and he is a leader but he clearly wants a new challenge- fair enough. We are well behind City and Liverpool, how we close the gap I’m not sure. What we must do in the summer is get rid of a number of players who are not good enough or because of contracts are favourable for us to cash in, I’m thinking of Kante and Jorginho. No doubt we will have interesting debates at the end of the season as to who should stay and who should go. I didn’t see the game today but am very happy either the 3 points.

Very good post Jimbo. I agree with you.
It should be an interesting summer for us. We need a shake up and we should not mess it all up this time around.

It seems unlikely Lads but it isn’t certain that any deal is done with any of the potential buyers and it could be that if a deal is done it won’t get through all the hoops in time for this summer transfer window.

Nib, while your comments are valid and logical, they are harsh! I think we are on the right path. Both Manchester City and Liverpool had something we have been lacking for a while now and that's consistency! especially in their coaching department. We would have questioned the club's ambition had Conte stayed and we are playing this way. For cry out loud Pep and Klopp has been around for more than five seasons with the selecting the spine and disseminating the culture of their teams. Tuche has been a brilliant tactician and will sure get better with the team.
As for Rudigar, he will be missed, we all felt Chelsea won't be able to move on from JT but here we are today! we are the mighty blue! one the best team in the world! we will forge ahead. He will be replaced properly, I have absolutely faith in those at the helm of recruitment to get it right.
On the flip side, I might be wrong, I believe we have some players that seems to favour a particular formation and tactics. They seems to be the very influential to team, such is christianson, Rudigar, alonso (3-4-3), jorginho, lukaku and ziyech. i think we will do better with four (4) at the back. Also, we should invest into the SB/ WB department, James and chidwell are great on their days but they are plagued with injuries.
if we are able to win the FA! great, it's already a great season.

beside all these, it's been awhile that I read obinna's post.

That’s good to hear Ed.

Oscar you are dead right about cover for wingbacks. We don’t know how well Chilwell will recover from his long term injury and worryingly James has become injury prone- I hope it’s just a run of bad luck.
