Bye tuchel, the boring negative football is one thing when getting result, you have one when there was no one to sack you, lukaku rotting on the bench when our forwards are being bullied is shocking, not being able to get an attacking treat out of what we have isn't good enough, our fans standards have died, people to scared to criticise when players go out and give us those performances,

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2022 16:17:35
Matt saying that “fans standards have died” is bizzare. We all want our club to win and we can all chose to be critical in different ways.

I have been critical of TT in the same way I have sung his praises when he has deserved it.

I stated a couple of days ago I would have started with Pusilic, Lukaku and Ziyech for this game and I still think those three would have us offered more.

Unless the new owner has some idea we haven’t heard TT will be our manager for the start of next season end of.

01 May 2022 16:17:57
Incredible how different the opinions of two people can be.
Nobody can be satisfied after today, and quite frankly, the last long run of results.
To me, Tommy is not the question, but the answer - as in one of the few things this club should prioritize keeping the most. Still, I respect your opinion, and quite certainly questions can be asked about some of the decisions he's made.
To me, he's still the right guy, however :)

01 May 2022 16:23:44
Nobody seems to be calling tuchel out or the players Tom, seems people just accept that we’re not as good as LFC and city, we could of had 3rd done and dusted, playing same 10 of 11 who played other night and wondering why we look so slow and weak isn’t a huge shock to me, I honestly think players and TT have chucked towel in and want season done with,

01 May 2022 16:25:23
60+ games in this season

Only one player bought since being manager (Lukaku)

And nothing to play for.

I think you're being unfair and I like the style of football when teams aren't parking the bus against us.

01 May 2022 16:27:23
I agree Emil.

Next season we will definitely be without Rudiger and Christensen. My guess is Jorginho and Alonso will also be leaving. I also think one wide player, possibly Ziyech will also be leaving along with either Lukaku or Werner.

Any new owner isn’t going to change the manager for the start of next season. I will be critical as always, when a manager or player deserves criticism but that doesn’t mean I want them to leave.

01 May 2022 16:29:36
I agree Nath. Mind you why we bought Lukaku and then not play to his strengths is a big mystery to me.

01 May 2022 16:31:20
Yeah I love it when teams are open and defensively poor against us, shame that teams know they have to be fairly compact and we struggle to score and break teams down,

01 May 2022 16:52:21
Matt, I think you misunderstand, us not finding ways to beat a low block more often is a criticism of our players and manager.

01 May 2022 16:55:13
10/ 10 for sarcasm.

But what about the 60+ games and TT not really having an impact on the squad yet?

01 May 2022 17:03:21
We can’t be surprised that teams set up defensively against us if we want to be contenders we have to deal with that. I think if the league started In January we would be7th or 8th which is probably our standards at present. In any event, the most important thing now is to resolve the ownership of the club and get rid of the sanctions. Chelsea are very hard to watch at present and TT must take some of the responsibility for that- I’m not advocating a change of coach at this stage though.

01 May 2022 17:04:10
We had Lamps saying the same thing week after week and we have now got TT saying the same as Lamps.

Missing chances and making individual mistakes. All very familiar.

01 May 2022 17:22:54
I agree with the fact that pulisic werner lukaku ziyech cho jorginho kovecic kante RLC Saul don’t have that quality of end product, but high intensity we’ve seen the best way we score is win ball up high and commit forward.

01 May 2022 17:23:50
Absolutely TT has to take some of the responsibility Jimbo and like all managers he will be criticised when things aren’t going well.

I agree with your point about new owners and as I’ve said many times I fully expect 8 or more players to be leaving this squad in this window.

01 May 2022 17:26:30
The thing that worries me is we don’t seem to have a vision on how we want to play the game :we don’t press very well, we don’t counter attack with any pace and recently we don’t defend well. I don’t ever recall TT explaining what style of football he would ideally like to achieve. This possession without end product reminds me of Sarri.

01 May 2022 17:29:00
Matt our press all this season and last season has been borderline pathetic.

We don’t even close down areas of the pitch. Ever the players can’t do it or the manager doesn’t want them to do it.

01 May 2022 17:32:46
I totally agree Jimbo and I said the same as you but I said it last season and got pelters for the comment.

We won the Champions League, the Super cub and the World Club Championship. So I suppose we should be happy but like all fans we want more and we definitely want to be entertained.

01 May 2022 17:55:17
The thing is, we have so many instances in every game, where players have made great runs, but nobody has the balls to pass to the player. This is not only an issue this season, but has been for the last 3 or 4 seasons, if not more.
There is only so much the coach can do when his players do not utilize such chances. Maybe Tuchel should do more to instill the players with the confidence to go for such a pass, but maybe it's just not the nature of the players we currently have?

01 May 2022 17:55:36
Anyways, I would love to hear Ed02's thoughts on this thread, if he's willing to share!

{Ed002's Note - Most of the posts should be deleted. These are not the supporters clubs need.}

01 May 2022 18:08:37
I don't think firing TT would change anything and I think we should definitely learn one thing or two and keep him for a few seasons.

There are lots of distractions right now which will be resolved in the near future.

We will finish in top 4 no doubt about that. We just have to regroup and change our squad to compete for next season.
This team is not complete yet to contend for the league title.

01 May 2022 20:10:16
The incident where the crowd kept the ball was farcical: Mendy was an idiot for going into the stand: clubs should be told to ensure match balls are quickly available and referees should add time- not that it made any difference to the result it was just amateurish.

01 May 2022 20:36:49
If Roman still has a say hopefully he will.

01 May 2022 21:05:13
The ones that pay all the money for tickets home and away and buy all the merchandise then when we have an opinion we are not the right fans WOW.

02 May 2022 16:23:39
Nibb, not sure who the right fans are. I remember in the 80s when we were in the old 2nd Division. I was in the East Stand, the ground was a tip, my mates who I used to go with faded away from the club, I think it was against Derby, 17000 in the ground, I had to persuade a mate a non chelsea fan to come with me for company; it was freezing and ended up 0-0, that was miserable. My mate wasn’t happy, I had to buy all the drinks after the game.

02 May 2022 19:00:55
Watching us play Walsall in the old second division or watching Sir Stanley Mathews play at The Bridge for
Stoke.

The most horrible soaking wet journey back from Moscow or the joy of Munich.

Ossie, Hinton, Hutch, Butch, Langley, Chopper, Zola, Eden, JT, Lamps, Drog, Big Pete, Makalele, The Byson and so many, many more,

We have all seen glorious failures and memorable success and it doesn’t matter if your a season ticket holder or a fan from the couch. We are all just fans.

02 May 2022 21:02:51
Tom, Hutch was my favourite player in those days; his long throw: bravest player I’ve ever seen.

02 May 2022 21:42:08
Jimbo, hanging around outside The Bridge having had a few to many and having got stuffed by Norwich in I think a league cup semi, I bumped into Ossie and Hutch (Hutch could hardly walk) and asked them to sign a program.

We had a bit of a chat and they invited me for a drink. I think we ended up in the Birds Neat at Waterloo, god knows why. Anyway, from what I can remember it was a fantastic night.
