Can anyone explain what is happening with the sale, reports saying Roman now wants to loan paid off ( £1.6b ), some saying gov don't trust that the money will go to victims of war etc and now deal could collapse and us go past our licence and be cast into big trouble and running of club?

I’m not sure if I believe it but generally there is always something that comes up late on with deals.

Matt, I’ve read that too but who knows the truth of it. What appeared to be a seamless takeover had turned into a bit of a mess but the government can extend the licence but time is not on our side.

Exactly Tom, I read that putin who pulls romans strings doesn’t want £2.5b of what was Russian assets being in the hands of American hedge fund company lol I just had to laugh,

Matt, I don’t think Mr Putin is a fan of the British Government either.
The £1.5bn owed to RA I assume could be just frozen by the government in a holding account. The losers then would be any charity that could have been a beneficiary.
I’m sure if there is a real issue, it will be resolved.

The problem is the club is running out of time for a sale to ho through as we only have until the 31st May after which time the club will cease to exist.

But TT and the players would obviously want new ownesrhip asap so certainty re future and planning of transfers, new contracts etc can happen. Can only hope that this potentially highly damaging uncertainty - not least among us fans! - will not be allowed to drift on any longer than absolutely necessary. Would much have liked an announcement before the FA Cup Final, let alone the end of the season on 22 May.
