Looking back at it, selling Fikayo Tomori was one of the worst decisions in recent years, especially with the shortage we have for next season at centre back.

Guehi and Tomori were pretty big errors looking back. Is it true we have a buy back option on either/ both of them?

23 May 2022 09:24:54
I think we do have something with Guehi but nothing with Tomori sadly.

So was letting go of Livramento.

I think we have some kind of option for both. But it will kick in in 2023.

To me, it was always puzzling why we didn't use Tomori more. Not the best take in hindsight, but to me, he was performing much better than the likes of Rudiger and AC, but somehow got droppen halfway through the season. Of course I know nothing about how he performed in training etc., but to me, he was much better than many of our players, and to me it seemed like he and Frank had an issue.

The talent was always there, and it's lovely to see him flourish now. One can only hope that we might get to see him back in blue at the Bridge in the future.
Ed02 do we have any sort or buy back-option, or something like that? I am unsure of the terminology to use, but hopefully you understand what I'm asking (and no, I am not asking the color of Queen Magrethe II of Denmark's underwear, should you think so - but maybe you even have the answer to that? If so, feel free to answer that as well! )

{Ed002's Note - No Chelsea do not have a "bay back" option.}

So Lamptey as well.

AFAIK Lamptey would have left on a free as didn’t want to sign a new contract. Livramento turned down a contract offer and wanted to go. Guehi chose to test himself and has thrived, I assume at that stage it was felt that Christensen and Rudiger would sign new deals. Out of all the players, Tomori going hurts the most for me. Having a transfer clause built into his loan deal scuppered any chance o fhim playing under Tuchel (I’d like to have seen that tbh) . One can only assume Tomori and Lampard fell out. ??‍♂️.

Although at that moment when Chelsea let Lamptey leave Lampard didn't plan using wing-backs.

{Ed002's Note - Lamptey wanted to leave.}
