As much as I am gutted about Tchouameni going to Madrid I'm also very happy he's not joining Liverpool. There side would have been unreal then. With Rice not looking likely this summer I wonder who else we'd be looking at the fits the physical defensive midfielder profile.

Let's not waste money on average midfielders any longer. Tchouameni is gone, and for all we know the club aren't even interested in getting Rice.
Just use Ampadu as a DM. If we waste money on a guy like Kalvin Phillips for example that will just reinforce our position as fighting for top 4 instead of fighting for the title for the next 5 years.

I agree Jackson I posted similar on another post. Wait to get Rice next summer and just renew Jorginho for a year and give Ampadu a chance. Spend that money on a couple of quality centre backs (Fofana and Kounde for me) and a winger with end product.

Jackson, you’re right but Ampadu isn’t the solution he is average at best: look to the academy or somewhere else: if we’re relying on Ampadu we will be fighting for top 10.
