Looks like Maatsen will be leaving soon.
I also assume Emerson (shame) will also be off to pastures new.

Tom, I’m suprised too about Maatsen, if it’s true, we definitely need cover for Chilwell, it will take some time before he is at his best. I presume any departures are approved by TT. I must say I am concerned about some of the players we have been linked with mainly want always and misfits Rabiot, the latest. A lot of reports that Kounde isn’t going to happen he wants to stay in his comfort zone and go to Barcelona. I know what you think of Alonso but at least he had the bottle to test himself in the PL. The only alleged target I am impressed with is de Ligt which means it probably won’t happen. I hope some things are going on under the radar.

We do seem to be leaving a huge amount to do by way of bringing in players in who are quality fits so yes do hope things happening under radar. though obvously several players coming back from loan.

Danny there’s a possibility of options as to why Maatsen is leaving. First he only has 2 years left on his contract, (so unless he was willing to sign a new deal, his value is at its peak for us atm) secondly it could be Maatsen enjoyed being first choice last season on loan and doesn’t want to be back up, or the 3rd option, perhaps TT or the people in power don’t feel he’s an adequate back up to Chilwell. IMO it’s probably a combination of 1&2 together.
Either way I don’t think we’ll ever find out the real reason regardless.
