Ed001, what do you think of Armando Broja?

{Ed001's Note - decent player but needs to be a rotation option rather than first choice for a top team, he doesn't have the goals or knowledge of the game yet to lead a line at the top end. He has the potential to develop but he could do with working with a top class forward to learn from or a top class coach to bring him on. I don't think you have either at Chelsea right now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed001, got to disagree on the top class coach. On the forward point, I think Broja could learn a lot from Sterling in terms of movement. Club need to make an offer that Drogba or Crespo can't refuse to be a striker coach.

{Ed001's Note - why, who is the top class coach at Chelsea?}

27 Jun 2022 08:37:47
The only thing Sterling could teach Broja about movement is how to move clubs when you realise you’re not good enough to be a regular starter .

Ed, would it make sense to replace Lukaku with Broja? Would he at the very least, offer more in our system than what Lukaku did?

{Ed002's Note - That is not the plan.}

Ed001, I'm not sure if you are slighting on Thomas Tuchel here, but I would argue he has more than proven his credentials in that department.
Anthony Barry is also a top class coach, albeit not an attacking coach.

{Ed001's Note - when has he ever proven that he is a top class coach? He has shown he can put together a tactical plan to bore the opposition into submission but never once has he shown he can coach and bring improvement to players.}

ed001 who would you say would be a good fit for chelsea coach wise? is tuchel someone genuinely interested in integrating the youth?

{Ed001's Note - the problem you have is that no coach has been able to feel safe enough to work with youth. That is a long term process and you need a coach to feel like their job is not going to be in jeopardy if it starts slowly. Lampard had a chance to do it, but as soon as there was the possibility to spend, he tossed the youth aside. You need someone dedicated to principles of looking within the club for solutions before buying. The Chelsea set up has a conveyor line of fantastic talents, but they are just farmed out on loan repeatedly, with no real sign of being integrated in the side. You need someone like Nagelsmann or Potter, two men who are intent on coaching improvements into their team first and foremost. Not a chance of getting Nagelsmann unless he gets the boot though, as he is a Bayern supporter living the dream. I am not sure Potter is quite ready for the step up and it might be a slower process than any new owner is going to stomach when they have an investment bank breathing down their neck looking for a return.}

thankyou for your response ed great input ??.

27 Jun 2022 11:46:22
I take it that you don't like Guardiola too then, Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - as a coach? He is very good at what he does, coaching players to play the way he wants them to play. Probably the best in world at it in fact. His problem is tactical and he tries to be clever and do something different, that is when it goes wrong as they are so well coached in what they do, they struggle to do anything else.}

I obviously want TT to stay at our club for years to come as this will mean we are continuing our story of success.

If he fails and I have said this before, I would go straight after Potter.

27 Jun 2022 12:10:24
I meant since his youth integration has been pretty much non-existent post his Barcelona days.

{Ed001's Note - ah now that he struggles with. I do agree on that, he is very much a chequebook manager who buys great players who are already fully capable of playing the way he wants.}
