Morning blues and eds, I'm very disappointed by poch leaving, I understand according to the media that the direction they want were on different paths, if that's true then this is the right decision.
My only concern is who is out there that we can get, we are Chelsea football club but a club that has been mid table for the last few seasons, in my opinion the next manager has to be the right one to take this club further.
I just hope the SD and owners get it right.

With all due respect, the likes of kompany, rdz, mckenna aren't in my opinion the right manager at this time, we have to get CL football next season.

But who's else is there.

Agree1 Disagree1

Steve, i made a similar point to you in an earlier post.

Poch new the structure when he joined and if, as reported, he now finds that structure difficult to work with it is best for all parties that an amicable solution was found.

I’m enjoying my online search for the next CFC manager. Life is rarely dull as a Chelsea supporter.

Well said SteveCfc, a thoughtful and considered post. It is very easy to look in from the outside and blame one party or the other without having an idea of what was actually discussed! It appears that both parties were very amicable in their decision making and there was no sacking or strops just a mutual parting of the ways due to different paths being sought. Far better to get it sorted now rather than start the season and then realise there was a difference in opinion on the path forward. (see TT) .

Tom, you are right “ Never a dull moment “ to quote Rod Stewart’s last decent album. I think that the days of “managers” are over hence Slott’s title of head coach at the Scousers. Not much point in having an expensive recruitment team if the coach wants to make the decisions although there should be consultation and teamwork between them.

And the Poch ship is definitely Sailing away and soon it might be best to say 'I don't want gto talk about it' perhaps?

Haven't listened to that RS album, perhaps this is the time to!

Jimbo true. I’m not sure that the blame game being played by some in the media and fans serves any positive purpose.

I can only assume that Poch understood the structure and his job description when he excepted the Job. I would also like to think that our next manager will have it made very clear to him his job description.

22 May 2024 14:13:11
Tom, the media and some commentators love reporting on the alleged chaos at the club. I read that Poch also wanted an extension to his contract. Clearly, that was a discussion for this time next year.

22 May 2024 14:13:39
Do you or I understand or trust the structure Tom, and does the structure make sense if it downplays the input from those ie head coaches who see the players on a day to day basis versus owners and others who don't about who to sell or not?

22 May 2024 14:48:12
Jimbo, it’s in the media’s interest to create stories they may well have a small percentage of truth. My issue is, I have so little faith in anything they say I now struggle to believe anything they put into print or on social media.

22 May 2024 14:31:16
JBS, In my opinion it’s not for us to understand the structure but I’m sure all the relevant parties concerned fully understood there own job description and decision parameters before they were appointed.

22 May 2024 15:15:18
The trouble is that without understanding the structure Tom we have no idea if or what problems there may be with it. But you are probably right in suggesting we may never know.

22 May 2024 15:43:10
JBS, it’s probably a bit like asking for a witness’s to give descriptions of a crime or accident. They will all see it differently.

From the outside we will make 2+2=5.
