Looking to next season, I think it's last chance saloon for Mudryk. Apparently, he is obsessed with the gym, he needs to concentrate on the mental side of the game and listen to the coaches rather than building up his biceps. Also, five players who need to prove they can stay fit; James, Chilwell, Fofana, Nkunku and Lavia. Personally, I would sell Chilwell, never rated him before or since he joined us. I would also accept a good offer for James, certainly not captain material and I don't trust him to stay fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think everyone needs to prove themselves. The only players who have shown they are quality and can stay fit are Gallagher, chalobah, Caicedo and Gusto. Hilariously, 2/ 4 are being shipped out.

Standard, I would personally add Palmer, Jackson and Petrovic to that list. Jackson may not have had an outstanding season according to some, however conaidering he was adapting to a new league, new team and new position on the pitch, all at the same time I personally think he did very well. I have no doubt he will continue to improve, he does however need to stop getting pointless yellow cards. Petrovic easily cemented himself as our best keeper and certainly deserves to stay. And Palmer simply speaks for himself, I can only assume it was an oversight on your part to exclude him from your initial list.

I’d also personally give honourable mentions to Gilchrist and Cucurella.

I’m sure most fans would have Palmer as a player who proved himself last season. I also think Jackson had a very good first season.

For me, all players start at a zero rating every season and then I will judge them throughout the season.

The three players I was looking forward to seeing last season more than any others were Nkunku, Lavia and Caicedo. It will be like having two new signings this season, if that makes sense.

I love all the rumours about whom we are supposed to be buying, selling and putting out on loan. Im sure when the window is closed I will not be happy some of decisions the club have made but that’s been the case for most seasons I have been a supporter.

I don't know how I forgot palmer. Absolutely add him to the list. Jackson improved but also missed mamy easy chances. I also like petrovic but I think he has to improve to be a starter.

Jimbo, you are correct on Mudryk, the boy clearly has talent, hence the reason Arteta wanted him. The pundits generally agree there is a player in there but something has been holding him back. I'm hoping Maresca can get the best out of him because with that pace, his quick feet, the balance and undoubted skill he could be devastating. As for the others on your list I think James might benefit from a positional change and playing as an inverted rightback might suit him and place less strain on his hamstrings. Marc C has surely shown enough now to even his biggest critics to warrant starting ahead of Chilly who I would also sell. Nkunku and Lavia are like 2 new signings and if they do stay injury free will add a huge amount to the squad. The one who concerns me the most from your list is Fofana because his injury record dates back to his Leicester days.

Standard,

How about asking Connor to sign a new contract, maybe then he would not be 'shipped out'

15 Jul 2024 02:23:17
He'll sign a contract that he believes he's valued at. Right now, chelsea think that's lower than other teams. Fair enough, i just think it's silly when a replacement would cost more.

I have no idea what the club value CG at and if it’s lower than other clubs. The biggest factor will probably in value will be one of “need. ”

I also have no idea if any new midfield signing will “cost more. ”.
