Matt law saying samu out top CF / ST target and unless price comes down, rumours in Spain we about to sign Lunin and gos knows where but in talks for parrereia from Fulham,

Lunin is far from a ball playing GK that maresca uses,
Pereria is an attacking midfielder - a position we need to address less than any other,
And Samu I can't comment on as have seen,

Honestly not sure on our plan as a club if these are to be believed,

Agree0 Disagree0

Matt Law’s latest article debunks those rumours…

I just let everything play out, no point (IMO) to react or try to understand every rumour going.

Matt I don’t put much stock in papers or Twitter rumours tbf, but having said that I wouldn’t have said we had a need for a CM in the slightest but we bought Dewsbury-Hall. We don’t really know what the clubs plan is so can’t really judge til the windows over.

Fuser,

Who says there is a plan?

We need a top class ST and we are constantly looking at wingers and kiddies to fill our nursery spots.

We were also told SB would be re-developed, re-built but not a peep from the owners as to what progress if any has been made.

I'm not even sure who us calling the shots now, TB or clearlake.

As I say, what plan.

Bill, just because we don’t know the details of any plan doesn’t mean there isn’t one.

I seem to remember there was a review of all the options regarding any stadium build. Plus we have purchased land to the side of the stadium that suggests there will be a development of some sort.

20 Jul 2024 14:18:29
Tom, it also does not mean there is one.

Also, I read that although the land was bought, it did not guarantee it would be used as part of the SB re-build, re-development.

All I'm saying is that we know what we need to improve the team yet we keep bringing in kiddies.

Bill, I’m pretty sure Abramovich spent around 5-6 years engaging with various feasibility studies alongside architects trying to formulate the best stadium. The new owners have brought in their own firms who will have to do their own reviews on that data plus potentially their own studies. The fact still remains that Stamford Bridge is a very very difficult site to renovate or even rebuild. I don’t imagine we’ll see anything on it til the end of the year at the soonest and even then it’ll probs be 2027 before ground is even broken if they decide to remain at SB.

Who’s the striker the club should be buying?

20 Jul 2024 16:23:05
Bill, it’s not questioning that a plan exists or doesn’t exist. My point is we ain’t goons know about it.

As I’ve said many times my preference would be to move away from Stamford Bridge. My next choice would be rebuild just the East stand and Shed. My least favoured choice is a new stadium.

In the back of my mind I seem to remember the club employing a person to manage the process and that included looking at all the alternatives. When that review takes place they will then have choices to make but I can’t see the club giving us a running commentary on the situation. In fact I can’t see us knowing anything until the club/ owners have reached a decision and then they will, I’m sure, explain the reasons for that decision.

I would try for Dolanke or Watkins and if neither are available I would go after the lad from AM.

With regards to SB, you are right that Roman spent several years on the project but them seemed to shelve it.

My worry is that our new owners will quietly do the same.

Tom, when the new ownership first came in it was with the intention of being upfront with the fans and yet for sometime now we have not heard a peep from them. As I have said previously, I don't even know now who is calling the shots at our club.

Bill, as far as the owners promise to improve communication with the fans, I can now confirm that I have had a response from FAB and that came with a promise of timely responses.

The FAB and CPO board mins are always worth looking at and the FAB board do have people who represent most of the Chelsea fan base including OAP’s, juniors, ST holders and members.

Bill I don’t see Watkins as a viable option. Villa have CL football and given how tough the market is they’d likely want 80-100m easy given they’d need a replacement. Solanke apparently has/ had a £65m clause but not sure about that and Atletico want the full 70-80m clause for Samu so don’t see that happening given he’s only had the one good year out on loan.
