£35m for Gallagher, how true, seems we struggle to buy and sell, isn't smith rowe going for same price and his hardly kicked a ball in 18 months,
We're buying kids from Brazil for more than Gallagher going for, who captained us slot last season,

Smith Rowe has three years left on his contract.
30 Jul 2024 19:55:23
Gallagher has one year left on his contract.

Matt
We are paying the price for the recruitment team allowing CG to go down to his last year on his contract hence the price.
I wish we had Italian negotiators working on our transfers, they seem to get what they want and paying as little as possible for players.
I still think CG will go on a free next season.
30 Jul 2024 20:42:38
Stupid money ain’t it. Only a year left though.
30 Jul 2024 21:22:15
Matt, I saw something recently which indicated that we have made more money than any PL club for sales; can’t remember the details. If Fulham want to pay£35 million for Smith-Rowe that’s their problem: they’ve been scammed. Also, bear in mind Gallagher only has one year left on his contract: if he is sold will be probably nearer £40 million.

With one year left don't think £35 is that bad, if we could add a sell on % that would help
May be proved wrong but I think Dewsbury Hall will turn into a top player and a good replacement.

Seymns2, KDH is nearly 26 and never played at international level at any age group. I don’t think he is going to be a game changer for us.
My real concern is that none of our signings improve the first XI now. We are not being set up to win . I’m not sure what the plan is.
31 Jul 2024 08:44:54
Titan, we are also not being “set up” to draw or lose.
We have some top players that should guarantee we are competitive. It’s now up to the manager and his staff to find a winning system.
31 Jul 2024 09:36:59
A pedantic response TomB. My point was clear.
We are selling players of a certain level and replacing them with players of a current lesser level who may have potential.
31 Jul 2024 10:04:41
Titanic, that is your entitled opinion. I think how squad in general needed change and while the owners, like all owners, will not get everything right they are certainly putting there hands in there pocket.
Of course my response to your “set up to lose” comment would seem pedantic but that comment was just plain wrong.
31 Jul 2024 12:01:55
No, my comment wasn’t wrong, as it was an opinion TomB, just as your response was. The pomposity of your responses, in my opinion, to any poster that doesn’t say something you agree with is constant and increasingly boorish. It’s part of the reason I observe rather than post.

I think CG was one of our top 3 players last season on terms of consistent effectiveness, leading from front plus regaining possession, and proven at EPL level. replacing with KDH is a gamble if that was the plan. But given I don't know what new contract CG has been offered makes it hard to judge sanity or otherwise of this. Can only hope KDH exceeds expectations of course and he is left footed which offers something a little different perhaps.
31 Jul 2024 12:15:55
And that’s an opinion that is probably shared by many!
I will only give my opinion and very rarely if ever make an opinion sound like fact.
31 Jul 2024 12:35:29
And that is indeed your opinion of what you do and more power to you, to have that opinion.
31 Jul 2024 12:40:13
JBS, without doubt you are correct, CG was one of our best players in an injury ravaged season.
I would zero way of knowing how many games or how important he would have been to our season if Chuka and Lavia had been fit.
Ed02 I seem to remember said CG had been offered a very fair new contract by the club. Of course if he doesn’t think it represents his value to the club or what he could get elsewhere, he die have to sign.
I personally don’t see the KDH signing as a replacement for CG. I think it will be Enzo, Chuka or Lavia taking up his role.
31 Jul 2024 13:38:26
KDH may not work out, but Conor was never top quality for me worked hard not that creative and had a poor 1st touch squad player not a starter in a top 4 team was one of our better players last season but going forward we need better.
31 Jul 2024 14:01:36
You. may be right Tom thst KDH not a simple replacement for CG but begs question of where he would fit in in midfield. Epuld he be an alternative left winger? But if we did sign Osimhen one would expect Jackson to switcht to the left. Can KDH play as a left wingback?
31 Jul 2024 14:41:05
JBS, this probably sounds a bit old fashioned but when I did pick up some Leicester games he was almost like an inside left.
I just don’t see the need for us to replace CG but I would still rather not sell him if that makes sense.
