We were shocking for the most part and that against a city team full of kids.
We were lucky not to have conceded six and only started playing once city had made even more inexperienced subs and switched off.
The blueprint is established now for PL teams against us press high/ close down and we will crumble more often than not.
And playing James in a position that nullifys his greatest asset is absolute genius and Gusto at LB worked a treat as well!
The only decent performance was from Noni who the club are willing to sell.
And we looked so much better without Conor in midfield didn't we!

Unfortunately kdrog the clubs, in my opinion, awful strategy has taken the wind out of me and I'm no longer that optimistic.
In turn, at the moment I won't expand to much energy on the club. Obviously I'll support but I'm not going to be passionate enough to rant on here after games. I'll be here for a laugh.

I think we could have scored a lot more than two.
I can’t remember what the theme of the radio avert is but it says something like, “if it stops being fun, stop doing it. ”
I meant to mention in an earlier poat, Ben Jacob’s who is in America reporting on the Chelsea tour gave a very balanced interview on Talksport this morning. He touched on several interesting topics and did not break out into hysteria comments as some have done (Perry Groves) on that radio station. If you can hunt a recoding it’s worth listening to in my opinion.

Defensively very sloppy but was expected from Caicedo first game tbf. Thought Sanchez should have come out and collected the ball for the first goal as it was high in the air for a bit, also the pen was a lil soft.
First half the system looked completely different to what was seen in the previous 3 pre season games, Gusto was basically playing LW in possession instead of inverting and James as a wide CB. Nkunku dropping deep at ST with pretty much no runners beyond him. Was a poor system imo.
Looked better when we went back to 2 proper wingers and a ST up top. Playing out at the back will continue to be dangerous where we’ll be punished until players are up to speed and used to the system but not looking great at all so far.

Originally I thought Sanchez was at fault for there third goal. It’s never good to get beaten at the near post but looking at it again I would apportion more blame to the defender as he should have been showing the attacker the outside.
I can’t remember Sanchez being really at fault and I think the first goal was a very dubious pen. If you remember Haaland got one of them at our place last season.
I hope you agree with me that so far Lavia looks class.
