If, I still think it's a pretty huge if, we sign Osimhen, I think finding a decent loan for Guiu is really important. The lads got so much about him, but he really needs regular starts/ mins in senior football. Osimhen starting and Jackson deputising, really leaves little room for Guiu to find mins. Felix and Nkunku offer depth/ something different as strikers too, so we wouldn't be short. Mid table La Liga in Spain, or playoff chasing Championship loan would be a good level for him.

George and Acheampong are others who could do with regular game time in senior football too. Both could contribute in the Championship, or even Ligue 1 in France. It's entirely possible, with the correct pathway laid out, that these boys are in the first team squad in a year or two.

“J” I agree with all your potential loans. Fingers crossed all will be revealed this week.

To be honest Tom, unlike a lot of fans, I'd be really comfortable if we didn't sign Osimhen, or any other striker.

I would be interested to see Felix play false nine, coming deep and playing others in, like Firmino did so well for Liverpool over so many seasons. There'd be plenty of goals around him, from Palmer, Nkunku, Madueke etc.

“J” Osimhen has always been my first choice but if we can’t get him I’m more than happy to go with what we have got.

A top class striker can make a difference in tight games particularly against top teams. Just as a top class keeper can save you points during a season. Sanchez is certainly not a top class keeper and if Jörgensen can’t dislodge him as No 1, you have to question his quality; something we need to look at next summer. I agree if we can’t get Osimhen we should stick with what we’ve got; some of the alternatives being bandied about are dreadful. We certainly don’t need any more “forwards”.

I would still go for Gyokeres before Victor.

I’m definitely in 2 minds about Osimhen. If we know he can get back to his goalscoring best then signing him is a pretty easy decision but he had a largely poor season last year and so there is the possible worry especially with the high fee and wages.

LRDit, I like the look of Gyokeres and wanted him signed when it looked like Osimhen was out of reach. I have some reservations about him too both due to the league and his price.

Ultimately I also wouldn’t be too devastated if we signed no-one. I honestly really like the look of Guiu and despite his age I think with game time he could become top top level. Even Jackson I have hopes that he’ll improve this season, and he scored 17 in 44 last season which is actually really decent despite his big misses.
