First half totally awful if this is the level we are at we have loads of work to do Liverpool one up top playing same sort of system just look at the nightmare tosin and cowell have had yellow cards giving penaltys away should of been sent off can't defend a simple ball over top? now compare that to Liverpool so steady it unreal Jackson may as well not be on brings nothing in big games get Nkunku on or Felix the goalkeeper has to go he's a liability only positive for me Is lavia.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nib, please turn your TV on!

20 Oct 2024 18:46:04
We got beat Tom.

20 Oct 2024 19:13:11
That much we can agree on.

20 Oct 2024 19:32:02
Oh well at least we can agree that both Poch and Maresca are losers at Anfield.

20 Oct 2024 19:43:04
You can get beat that's fine.

I thought we were better team in 2nd half (even though we were chasing the game which played the factor)

Our weak point was balls over the top as our defenders are not up for races.

Two defets in 8 games, great coach l, top team . not.

20 Oct 2024 20:30:52
Tom.

You agree we lost, what don't you agre with Nibb on?

20 Oct 2024 20:33:04
Sanchez should never be our first team GK.

20 Oct 2024 20:42:27
Obviously not happy that we got beat but in was light years ahead of last seasons performance at Anfield.

The lowest amount of shots (8) the scousers have had at home in three years.

It’s the result that counts but I remain convinced we will near the top 4 at the end of the season.

20 Oct 2024 20:46:18
Played fine thought we were unlucky not to get a draw, the biggest worry for me is still the keeper.

20 Oct 2024 22:08:58
I thought it was generally a boring game with both teams cancelling each other out.

We might just have marginally been the better side and in my opinion pre the awarding of what I considered to be a soft pen (I’m biased) we were by far the better side.

I would love to see us improving with headed passes and clearances. I find myself shouting at the TV about a skill that should be pretty basic.

Thinking about the last few games against the scousers I think Palmer has had a strangely poor game in all of them.

Wearing my blue glasses, the screams from that Anfield mob every time one of their players is touched is grating and irritating, it's awful. Refs eventually buckle, not so much on big decisions but in terms of the little 50-50s which disturbs the game flow, all in favour of the home team.

Another thing I noticed is that when a Chelsea player eliminated their marker and there is even a sniff of potential danger he is coming down. Cleverly, they share the misdemeanours and take turns at pulling, tripping or blocking. Today, the wide players often had their markers on the back foot but never continued to stress their mentality and cause them to dive in and possibly foul.

Wee bit better decision making in the final third might have meant a point would have been earned. Good to see Reece back, Caicedo, Lavia were good, Cole was poor, Madueke and Sancho are young and it shows, their game is lacking in power and intensity, need to make a decision on the CB pairing and stick to it, Chelsea’s goal was the pick of the three, I really can’t stand Salah, and I’m sorry but need to change the GK.

Two games against the top two, two losses says it all.

21 Oct 2024 04:24:15
Bill, in my opinion our two defeats this season do say a lot about the progress we are making. Generally this season our performances this season are a lot better than last season.

Other than the second goal, I thought we restricted there opportunities. Apparently that was the lowest amount of chances they have had in three years at Anfield.

Hi Guys, me personally I don't under thr negatively, I know we lost, we lost to Liverpool at anfield. we weren't disgraced, we played well and we were in the game, a vast improvement in past seasons. We gave away a soft pen, if that's given then we should of had one on sancho.
I agree about our keeper though.
But overall we are improving massively and I'm happy with how together we are.
Up the blues x.

21 Oct 2024 08:03:52
Steve, I agree about the soft pen and I was surprised that no comparison was shown with the Sancho challenge. In my opinion, if you give one you give both.

21 Oct 2024 11:24:20
We were much the better team couldn't stand there players diving and screaming out every 10 minutes a joke that sancho didn't get a penalty given disgraceful refereeing and cheating curtis Jones that was never a penalty by colwil but I'm not too fussed about the lost when it was 12v11 a win was never possible and when they come back to Stamford Bridge they are in real trouble.

21 Oct 2024 12:26:03
The game against them back at the bridge will be interesting and no doubt another chess match.

Both sets of players tried to influence the ref and that, unfortunately, is now a common trait of most footballers.

Certain managers have there team breaking up the flow of a match with tag team fouls and players behaving as if they have been hit by a sniper! Every season to my sad eyes it’s getting worse.

21 Oct 2024 19:28:55
What happened to high pressing retrieving the ball back. Maresca jibbed it.

21 Oct 2024 23:23:27
The colwill tackle was a clear pen, but so was the sancho one, only difference was the reaction from the crowd, we get that at home imo.

22 Oct 2024 11:30:30
As I’ve said, give one then give both.
