I may not be. liked for this comment.

But we should either start playing Nkunku instead of Jackson or go all in for top. quality striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

With u.

I think Nkunku will unfortunately be sold sooner rather than later. Today he came on for a 25min cameo and did very little to suggest he deserves to start.

I have always said I would like us to sign Osimhen but the lad from Newcastle looks to be a better option. If only!

26 Dec 2024 21:21:31
I concur, Jackson over the last few games has shown us that we cannot rely on him to win us games when they are tight.

Also I think there is something bad hoing on behind the scenes between Noimi and Maresca I wish Maresca would stop digging out players to the media.

26 Dec 2024 21:28:49
I agree, that Sanchez and Jackson always start shows why we are not serious contenders : these are two areas where need to upgrade if we want to get back to the top table.

26 Dec 2024 21:32:03
top quality striker always welcome

Nkunku hasn't impressed me greatly when he has come on for Jackson would rather he came on and played with Jackson.

26 Dec 2024 21:38:02
If you all think that Sanchez and Jackson was the problem today then I’m flabbergasted.

Sanchez last week made a couple of good saves and today he did the same. Jackson today worked so hard in comparison to others.

26 Dec 2024 22:00:42
Tim

He might have worked hard but ge did not di what he was there fie, score.

26 Dec 2024 22:31:01
Not only that maresca struggles with trying something different. And never wants to change.

26 Dec 2024 22:43:18
Gusto and Neto were made to poor today because of the managers tactics. I think the manager would have loved to hook Neto but he would then have had to put George on as his direct replacement against a rampant Robinson.

It would have been much better in my opinion to bring on another midfielder to close down the Iwobi threat and let Gusto handle Robinson. It was all a bit like pep when he overthinks his tactics.

26 Dec 2024 22:57:19
BLUEBOY, I think so far this season EM has shown a reasonable amount of tactical flexibility and I’m only saying in my opinion he got it wrong.

Throughout the whole game Robinson and Iwobi bossed Gusto and Neto. There has not Ben a single member of the embarrassing Neto non challenge for the equaliser.

It could be argued that the manager had limited direct replacements but he could have changed the shape and that would have allowed Neto to be a winger not a RB.

26 Dec 2024 23:42:54
Nkunku has been given more than enough chances to impress and other than the Bournemouth game he has failed to deliver, we actually as a team get worse when he comes on.

Robinson is an incredible full back and most Wingers including Salah struggle against him. Gusto has had a Poor season so far IMO yes he is a decent back up to James but lacks a lot in the final third.

Were having a slight dip in form which I completely expected we have a young team and a young manager and will learn how to grind these wins out eventually but these things take time so be patient.

We are that one transfer window off competing for the league like when Liverpool when they signed Alison and a couple of others, if we can do that we will be right up there.

Long long way to go. Behind the current top 4 teams are beating one another Willy nilly. Chelsea need to hang in there. To be slightly controversial, Cole needs to show a little more maturity, yes we enjoy his off the cuff play but on too many occasions near the end of the game he tried too many blind passes too many dummies which needlessly gave the ball to Fulham, very frustrating. As for the Fulham winning goal Cucu should have been challenging for Sanchez’s hooked diagonal. The lad let the Fulham boy pluck it out the air and set the move off.

27 Dec 2024 04:04:02
Whitey, I completely agree with the majority of your summary and assessment.

We did not lose yesterday’s game because of Sanchez and Jackson.

27 Dec 2024 05:09:02
Londonscot, I agree with your post. Palmer scored a cracking goal but generally he wasn’t at his best. Fulham and other teams are doing there best to nullify his wonderful talent. He has to get used to that special treatment and rise above it.

27 Dec 2024 08:59:12
Can't be saying Nkunku had plenty of opportunities and didn't impress when ar most he gets 20 mins a game in PL.

He is doing quite well in Conference League when he is starting.

27 Dec 2024 10:11:05
How about starting Nkunku for a number of games in order to see what he can or can't do on a regular basis.

Would be interesting to see the Jackson impact if he had to keep coming on as a sub.

Also Tom, you are right saying we did not lose the game because of Sanchez and Jackson however they did not win us the game either.

27 Dec 2024 11:28:10
Bill, as I’ve said many times Nkunku was the player that excited me the most when we signed him but when he has had premiership starts and cameos he hasn’t pulled up any reds so far. I think he may well start against Ipswich.

Also Bill, I’m happy to be critical when a player or the manager deserve it but the constant pops at Sanchez and Jackson for there performance against Fulham is misdirected.

Our manager did nothing yesterday when it was obvious to everyone we were getting bossed on one side of the pitch.

27 Dec 2024 12:35:16
Yes Maresca has rightly deserved many plaudits this season in gelling a young sqiad and getting CFC into top 4 half way through season but he must also accept crtiticism when its due. It was on yesterday's tactics, lack of rotation in starting lineup, and inaction in terms of changing things eg via subs and positioning. TRhere was also not much by way of a plan B v Everton though drawing against them no disgrace. and yes Fulham have been playing v well. But in the current top 8 the only two we have beaten are Newcastle at the Bridge and Bournemouth away and with the Bournemouth win we were v lucky given they dominated us and we got the points by smash and grab Sancho and Nkunku assist and goal for which Maesca should take the credit in terms of substitutions. I think he's been too passive in this respect in the last couple of games.

27 Dec 2024 12:41:35
Great posts Whitey97 and Londonscot, I fully agree with you both.

27 Dec 2024 13:10:46
Tom

I totally agree about Maresc's inability to change the game but I would also say that yesterday's game is not the first and probably won't be the last Sanchez and Jackson cost us points.

27 Dec 2024 13:31:08
I like Jackson he’s a fantastic footballer. He’s just not ready to lead the line for us yet and he has no direct competition.

I’d move on Nkunku for a decent fee. He doesn’t fit the system and doesn’t press enough but still a fantastic player. Just a shame we already have Palmer in his favoured role.

Go all out for Jhon Duran maybe even involve Dewsbury-Hall (Unlikely but seen Villa wanted him. )

27 Dec 2024 13:44:05
Bill, how on earth has Sanchez and Jackson cost us points yesterday?

For sure be critical but let’s try and aim the criticism at the right people and when it’s due.
