Maresca said we are better than one/ two months ago, says it all about him, does not have a clue.

Agree0 Disagree0

absoloutely laughable this guy comes out with aome rubbish, we can't score and were leaking more goals than is imaginable how are we better were rubbish.

25 Jan 2025 20:41:11
How quickly he went from doing a good job managing this squad to, not selecting players from conference, telling them and the world they aren’t title challengers and drilling in top 4 would be a success and saying we don’t need midfielders and the constant faith in Sanchez, what a fraud.

25 Jan 2025 20:46:36
Yeah clueless Bill no plan B and his in game management is so poor waits till late on to makes subs and they never make an impact.

Time for Sanchez to be moved on I don't think I’m exaggerating when I say this but Im not sure he would start for any other premier league team. His distribution is awful, positional sense is even worse.

Going to be another season with out top 4 and another year of going to games on Sundays and Mondays which really frustrates me.

25 Jan 2025 21:09:54
Should we sack him?

25 Jan 2025 22:00:42
Tom, the question is: should we have appointed him: no experience or pedigree: if he is sacked the SDs should go as well.

25 Jan 2025 22:02:09
No but we should sack Sanchez.

25 Jan 2025 22:07:45
Tom B
It is years since I have been this depressed watching The Blues. What hope have we got with a goalkeeper who leaks goals, and can't anticipate events, at one end and a striker who fluffs the easiest of chances at the other end. Plenty of goals conceded along with chances not taken means we will get precisely nowhere. EM does not seem to know any answers. Yes, sack all three.

25 Jan 2025 22:27:48
That's is down to the SD's Tom not us fans.

25 Jan 2025 22:59:00
That's beyond our paygrade Tom.

25 Jan 2025 23:10:52
Bill, it’s a simple question, do you want the manager sacked? I also have my doubts whether the SD’s would make a final decision on the future of EM.

25 Jan 2025 23:15:03
Blimey Dempsey, over the last few seasons I’ve seen us play a lot worse but I have to it hurts more now probably because my expectations are higher than they have been over the last few seasons.

I can only remember ever wanting two managers sacked and EM isn’t one of them.

25 Jan 2025 23:15:19
So to answer your question Tom some of us doubted the EM appointment greatly and said so at the time. Could not understand why Pochnparted with afyer stromg end to season in which half the squad injured for most of it. Appointing EM who no experience of managing atvtop level seemed like a huge gamble. nonevthat appeared to ge justified up yo December but now that in doubt.

But no EM should not be sacked now. We played good football for much of first part of the season and might perhsps again. We have 15 games left and if EM could match our points total from last fifteen matches last season we would finish on 72 points and likely makevtop 4. So EM should be given to the end of this season to do this. But surely has to get us ECL next season.

Let’s be honest our back line is poor. Cucurella has had some good games but defensively he has let us down. Colwill hasn’t developed as I had hoped, he is talented but is consistently bullied and seems to lack the physicality required in the PL. Trev is okay but never going to be top class but better than the alternatives . Reece is playing it safe and therefore not really being more than average and no comment needed about Sanchez.
On a separate issue, I am really impressed with Bournemouth,10 players injured and put Forest away. Their reserve CF, Quattara scored a hatrick but his headed goal was a thing of beauty, rose head and shoulders above the defender and guided into the back of the net: something Jackson could never do.

Currently Chelsea are too lazy, too lazy to beat a well organised team, to beat a hard working team, never mind a quality team like City. These lads take breathers every game AS A TEAM, and everybody’s touch, thought process, passing, and general awareness of staying in the moment, of playing with purpose deserts them. Everything slows down to a snails pace. First signs for us fans is the slow passing, playing around and with the goalie, the by-line, the six yard box, the taking of an extra touch, the failure to clear the lines, the failure to push up, constantly being boxed in for minutes at a time, spiralling to a general sloppiness all over the pitch, the giving away of crazy fouls, ridiculously throwing themselves to the floor to win fouls instead of running and competing, a reluctance to take quick attacking throw ins, quick free kicks, EVERYTHING TAKES TOO LONG TO DO, it is absolutely bizarre.

JBS, I didn’t want Poch as our manager but I didn’t want him sacked. EM was my third choice and for the majority of this season I think he has been ok. In my opinion there have been three games that he got wrong but generally he has been ok. I would not sack him.

For me Cucarella has been excellent this year and Colwill is fulfilling my expectations.

When you haven’t got the ball all teams look tired. The pos stat yesterday tells a story of how not to play against City.

26 Jan 2025 12:09:14
I think my worry about EM is not just with game tactics/ management but just how many he (or is it the SDs) has discarded and thus possibly obverplaying/ tiring others. OK the club may wish to sell Chilly, say, but surely he might have been given more game time in cups or even coming on for Cucurewlla at times in the EPL to give MC some minutes off? BC is after all on 200,000 a week! Hasn't Casadei from cameos he's had been worth bringing on in games to help out in midfield? Try Jackson on the lkeft with Nkunku nearer the box when we are chasing goals. ETC

Like you I have been loathe to have managers sacked after just a short time in charge if especially in mid-season. That was why I'd have given Potter to the end of his season in charge not brining in Lamps. As you've put it a few times things can get worse not better. And if poch had shortcomings he had began to get the team working together much better with only one loss in last fifteen games and should surely have been given a second season to ghet us into ECL and while if deemed not long term solution a good but experienced manager at top level (like a Slot from Dutch league) monitored carefully and sought to replace him. EM had after all lasted only 14 games in Portuguese leage winning only 4 of them before being sacked there plus no EPL experience. Leyt's hope he can pull things round from this sticky patch. we must all want that. But it was a big gamble. But bringing someone else in now who is not top notch might be too and things as you've said could get worse not inevitably better!

We are 6th and still challenging for a champions league spot. Most fans I think would have been happy with that at the start of the season.

26 Jan 2025 17:04:24
After the end to last season I would have hoped after good transfer window that we would have improved on 6th position - where we finished last season after poor injury wracked first half to it - by this stage in this season. But certainly there is still plenty of time for EM to get us into top 4.
