Apparently, the local council have indicated at a public meeting that they would be open to a stadium being built on the Earls Court site if it helped them secure government funding for housing and rejuvenation of the area in and around of the site.

Jimbo, I did see that and I like you I also read an article about the Earls Court redevelopment tapping into government funds in the same way that the Trafford are could be developed.
This could be a game changer but I assume the process will take several years.

Tom, true but a redevelopment of SB could take even longer and the added advantage is that we wouldn’t have to find somewhere else to play for around 4 years.

Thanks for posting this information Jimbo. Gives us some hope of a good outcome in time. Could it even be by 2030 when with Vision 2030 we are supposed to have a good team againat last? Lol.

Jimbo, I agree there are lots of pluses to a permanent move away from the bridge.

Hope this does materialise, Tom would this move suit the CPO?

Staying at SB is not feasible. I fully support the move.

Bill, you ask a good question and I’m not sure how the CPO would react. I was a CPO member who voted in favour of the RA proposal but my fellow members I think partly because of the pre vote potential rigging and also the CFC naming rights voted against the RA proposal.
I think a move and therefore the actual ownership of the ground could well be exceptable to the CPO. I think it would take the view that any profit profit from the development of Stamford Bridge should be put towards a new stadium development.
I’m also not sure how the CPO will vote if asked to give the CFC name back to the owners. I think they may well seek some formal/ legal assurances about the CFC name.

Tom if they changed the name of the club or our colours I would stop going. Although, the Muppets or are designing and approving our home kits should be sentenced to listening to Taylor Swift albums for 5 years: they are ruining our heritage.

Jimbo, so would a lot of fans. If i remember correctly the ownership of the name issue came about because of the Wimbledon move to Milton Keynes. Moving to Earls Court would hardly be considered the same but I still think the CPO would seek assurances.
From originally hating our latest new kit, I have to be honest and say it’s grown on me in a positive way.
