So another club, man utd are building a new stadium with 100k capacity.
We are going to be so far behind other clubs that soon Leyton Orient will have a bigger capacity than us.
Well done CST and CPO for getting conned by our new owners.
{Ed001's Note - does no one think there is a big scam going on though? I mean the Rat tells everyone he had to sack all these low paid workers in order to save 50p so the club could survive right? But then he produces plans for a 100k stadium. How much did those plans cost to draw up? I guarantee they weren't done for free and they will have cost more than the savings they got from sacking Doris etc in the canteen!}

I would have a clue about the CST being conned as it’s not an organisation I have much time for. The CPO certainly haven’t been conned and continually askd questions of RA and our new owners.
Ed, I’m not a fan of Sir JR or INEOS so I’m am very biased and I haven’t looked into the the fine details of this potential Traffford re generation but I will almost certainly end up being pi@@ed off if this project is going to be subsidised by the British tax payer.
Just a quick SB development observation. I was shocked to see a new build being put up in front of the ground on the Fulham Road. For me that is a signal that SB is not going to be redeveloped.
{Ed001's Note - you will end up being peed off then mate.}

Ed, What a joke. I can’t remember how or why RA didn’t buy the complete Earle’s Court site and hindsight is a wonderful thing but it looks like a massive opportunity missed.
I have less of an issue in missing out on the Battersea Power station site. That’s mainly because is now such a lovely place. I would recommend anyone to have a wonder around that development if they are in that area.
{Ed001's Note - he was blocked from buying it wasn't he?}
11 Mar 2025 12:26:34
Never mind, all is well with our new ownership.
11 Mar 2025 12:26:44
Hi Ed, as I said I can’t remember the details of the Earls Court site sale. I don’t remember him being “blocked” from purchasing that site. I seem to remember the site being sold as a complete block. Strangely that area would have been prime for regeneration as large parts of it are well past its sell by date.
I do seem to remember RA being the under bidder for the Battersea Power station.
Again I may well be wrong but both sites seemed to be available at around the same time and it seemed to me that the much preferred option was the BPS.
11 Mar 2025 12:44:35
Bill, I’m a fan of under promising and over delivering and our present owners would have better advised to leave the subject of SB redevelopment alone until they were much better informed. There comments at the time of the purchase will now, unfortunately but understandably be used as yet another stick to beat them over the head with.
It was well reported that RA had all but given up on the idea and this is only me but I had a sneaky suspicion that RA was falling out of love with Chelsea/ football.
11 Mar 2025 13:34:16
The Man U and Chelsea stadium issues are completely different. Man U have the land and there will be no problem getting planning permission. Frankly, I am bored with it .
11 Mar 2025 15:29:06
Jimbo,
All fans should be concerned that we are falling behind, it's not just for us to our future CFC generations.
Getting bored plays onto their hands however they have zero chance of getting their investment back.
11 Mar 2025 16:31:04
Bill, we are all just guessing about the why these people invest in football teams and this is my guess.
I think that owners are looking for multi popular sport franchises. In the future fans will be able to buy individually wrapped group TV season tickets. In my opinion that will make each multi sport franchise worth multi billions.

Maybe we should lobby the government for a new stadium although I doubt Khan would go along with that.
11 Mar 2025 17:46:52
Wasn't khan in favour of the planning RA had for SB?
Let's not forget Roman pulled out of the development when the government took away is visa. And this was before the war. But citing it was the economical climate.
I liked the plans he had in place but I am afraid that earls court is probably the best place to move.
11 Mar 2025 18:47:17
I forgot about the RA reported Visa issue being speculated as a reason for the Stadium not going ahead.
11 Mar 2025 19:07:16
Bill there is nothing I nor the supporters can do about it. There isn’t going to be a new stadium built on the current site and there appears to be no movement on finding an alternative. I just think the owners should let us know where they stand on the issue. So yes I am bored with it all.
11 Mar 2025 19:30:12
Cfc
I agree, a move away from the Bridge is the only solution and to be honest, if we can't do this in our preferred area, we need to move further afield.
11 Mar 2025 20:12:20
There is very little us fans can do to influence any CFC subject but that’s surely the reason we use this sort of site? We can vent our spleen and generally talk cr@p.
11 Mar 2025 21:49:46
Agreed Tom, however if fans don't turn up, the owners will have all the time in the world to wonder why a football club cannot continue without irs fan base.
11 Mar 2025 21:51:53
Move us to slough. Scrap the entirety of slough and put a stadium there lol.
11 Mar 2025 22:48:57
Do something different. Build a stadium and then ground share with QPR.
11 Mar 2025 22:52:56
Bill, there is apparently a 30k waiting list for a season ticket. My guess is the owners feel pretty secure about fans turning up.
12 Mar 2025 09:11:56
That is exactly why we need a bigger stadium. It would also help with the ticket problems you have been talking about on here Tom. Perhaps we might also get a better atmosphere in the ground with ordinary fans rather than what Mr Keane described as the prawn sandwich brigade (not you of Tom)
12 Mar 2025 09:59:29
I am partial to a prawn sandwich. Let’s be honest our home fans aren’t the most vocal in the Premiership but our away fans are something special.
13 Mar 2025 12:55:13
Maybe if younger fans could get tickets at a larger stadium where tickets could be mire affordable, the atmosphere might be much improved.
13 Mar 2025 13:13:01
Bill, my happy hammers mates were given the same yarn when they moved to the Olympic stadium. “The extra tickets will mean cheaper tickets. ” That proved to be a load of b@llox.
13 Mar 2025 20:26:16
I think part of why RA never bid for either site was due to the uncertainty surrounding the CPO and whether they’d agree to the move and what would happen to SB afterwards.
