How depressing that a football or for that matter anyone should find themselves the victim of racial abuse.
The reported online abuse aimed at Fofana is a total disgrace. I hope they find the cowards asap, name them and prosecute them with the full force of the law.

Totally agree Tom.

Completely agree Tom. Haven't seen the abuse and can't understand the twisted psychology of the abuser but also hope they're caught asap.

Unfortunately it’s incredibly common Tom, even in this day and age. My fiance is a filipina nurse and recently had to deal with racist abuse from one of the patients on her ward, directed at her and other ethnicities.
She reported this to her ward sister in the morning and she reported the abuser to the police. The police contacted her and the other nurses and they all said they didn’t want to press charges (I told her she made the wrong choice in my opinion), but they wanted the patient to be informed of the unacceptable behaviour. She heard back from the police two days ago, who told her that the perpetrator had shown no remorse and even made implications that they would act in precisely the same way again in the future.
I’m a nursing associate in the Emergency Department and have genuinely lost count of the amount of people I have had to tell off and threaten with refusal of treatment due to racism. This country’s healthcare system would collapse instantly without the support of all of my international colleagues.

Cech, that is such a sad story. I was brought up in South London not to far from Brixton. I went to an all boys comprehensive school, over 30% of that school had students from all sorts of ethnic backgrounds. The vast majority being West Indian. I can honestly say I didn’t experience any racial problems but I did as soon as I started work in a state industry.
A s my career progressed through various industries it was something I constantly battled against. I find it so upsetting. I hope im not alone but I have to challenge racism wherever I see it and that has included the bridge.
I hope you and your fiancé continue the good work and just look at these people as low life scum.
