Forget the fee's who is people's vote for new striker next season that is realistically possible?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2025 11:04:23
Osimhen would be my pick, he has 26 goals in 30 games this season, albeit in a farmers league. If his wages were an issue then Liam Delap rotating with Jackson could be an option, he is a real throw back to how centre forwards used to play.

28 Mar 2025 11:50:09
Mine was always Osimhen but I can’t see what’s changed from last season so I can’t see that happening.

So my new No1 choice is Isak. I do have a concern about some of the injuries he has had but to me he is almost the complete striker. My No2 would be Sesko, the lad works he nuts off and I think would do well in the Premiership. My No3 choice would be Delap, only because he is different.

28 Mar 2025 12:47:51
Mine would be Osimhen, Sesko or Valovic (spelling) as we need a presence in the box.

Like Tom, I think the Osimhen horse has bolted.

I think Isak is out of our range and he is injury prone, we have enough of those already in our squad.

28 Mar 2025 15:09:57
I’m ruling out Isak and Osimhen because I don’t think either are realistic. So I would plump for Gyokeres or Delap.

28 Mar 2025 16:12:54
Mine would be osimhen as first but I wouldn't be against getting liam delap. I just wouldn't want the fans turning on him because he is still young. So will be inconsistent still as per our other young stars.

28 Mar 2025 17:46:36
Would agree with Jimbo in terms of top two with Sesko as a possible third. Though he doesn't seem to be more prolfic in the Bundesliga than Jackson is in EPL?

28 Mar 2025 20:30:30
Taking this further, how many of our squad start the first game of next season (assuming all are fully fit)?
For me, James, Fofana, Cucu, Lavia, Moises, Estevao Willian, Palmer.

28 Mar 2025 20:44:37
Anna, you can probably rule three of those out.

29 Mar 2025 01:28:45
Anna, maybe a tad controversial but I think Jackson will start and so will Colwill. I agree with your choices as well.

I think we will sell a lot more than we buy.

29 Mar 2025 09:01:14
I agree with Jimbo.

After the CWC, we can probably rule out Reece, Fofana and Lavia.

I hope Petrovic and Santos return, both are excelling at Strasbourg.

I also would not be surprised if Jackson was sold.

29 Mar 2025 09:02:26
Good shout Tom, Santos is having a brilliant season as well as is Petrovic so you could put them in the mix as well and I still think we have a top player in Neto.

29 Mar 2025 09:24:58
I'd say we need two STs! Sell Jackson. Get Gyokeres or Osimhen and get Delap as back up and rotation.

But it is most likely that we are going to stick with Jackson, so either of those names would be fine.

29 Mar 2025 11:09:40
Or I suppose we could play the under 18's who thumped the available first team squad 3-0.

Before people say it was a kick around, LeicesterMaresca was so furious that he ordered them back in for trying on their day off.

To keep our confidence going it's probably best we play against the under 10"s in future.

29 Mar 2025 11:32:02
We are all doomed.

29 Mar 2025 11:46:37
Not all Tom, our young academy players are fine and seem to be well coached, only saying.

29 Mar 2025 12:47:55
Well done Fillip Coehlo our under 21 coach who only joinde last summer and had apparently doe well with tye Estoril under 23s and befoire that the Benfica academy.

And our women's team has beeen doing well and are well coached. Bompastor has done a wonderful job so far. Not least in terms of astute rotations when fighting on four fronts.

29 Mar 2025 12:48:34
Bill, you’re not just saying that. You can’t resist any opportunity to criticise our manager.

29 Mar 2025 15:24:14
JBS, I’m not sure how many if any under 18s played in that game but as I mentioned before a mate tells me this is the best batch of “young” talent we have hade in a few years. It will be interesting to see if any of them make the grade. It’s always a difficult transition.

29 Mar 2025 21:24:06
Tom, why shouldn’t Bill criticise our coach? He is not good enough to manage Chelsea. Bill is willing to say it and so am I. You often say I hope X is our manager for years to come because that means we will be successful; I always hoped I’d be as cool as Steve McQueen but it didn’t happen. So what do you think of Maresca is he a top class coach who will bring us success?

30 Mar 2025 04:41:15
Jimbo, so when did I say you or Bill “shouldn’t” criticise EM?

When I have believed it to be reasonable I have been r
critical of EM but I personally won’t make a judgement about him staying as our manager until the end of the season.

I have hoped/ wanted all our managers to be successful and be our manager for years. I would have thought most fans would want that.

I have no problems being in a minority about any view on owner, SD’s, manager or player.

I was cooler than Steve McQueen.

30 Mar 2025 10:45:54
Tom, I can picture you astride a Truimph motor cycle sporting a pair of Persol shades in a white T Shirt.

30 Mar 2025 11:12:57
Certainly not now and I would never have been seen on a motor bike. I was a scooter irk.

I did manage to make the front page of a Freemans catalogue one year. I was in a rather smart three piece suit accompanied by a very attractive young girlcalled Claire who was in a wedding dress. Eat your heart out McQueen!

30 Mar 2025 11:36:26
Tom, you're a Mod not a Rocker at heart then?

I expect you and the surely lovely Claire could have been on same scooter in a film set in Rome in the 1960s? Or riding up the King's Road?

30 Mar 2025 11:52:07
JBS, I was a so called “Mod” and I did used to drive up and down the Kings Road. I did try to explain the fashions in those days to my kids and it only made them laugh.

I do remember wearing a Ben Shearman Shirt, blue surge trouser, red socks and hush puppies and thinking I looked the bees knees! On reflection it was a truly awful look.

I also remember grabbing the pigeons in trafalgar sq in a duffle bag and releasing them on the tube. Very cruel but we thought it was such fun watching the other passengers duck from the swooping birds. I was about 10-11 but it was an awful thing to do. No excuses.

30 Mar 2025 12:34:16
Tom, I veered between Mod and Hippy in the 70s which was probably because of my musical tastes. On the one hand : Small Faces, the Who the Faces, Otis Redding on the other Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, the Free. Obviously, a mixed up teenager. I would be probably diagnosed with something nowadays.

30 Mar 2025 13:18:14
I was married in the early 70’s and my wife became interested in me looking normal. Although I did have a period of stupid long hair and a moustache.

30 Mar 2025 16:27:12
Tom, I used to love my long locks: could have played tambourine for the Free. Also being a teenager I loved annoying my late father who was Irish he was always saying “Get your hair cut: you look like a fecking girl”. I did compromise on the end by changing my hair to a spiky Ronnie Wood style .

30 Mar 2025 17:50:23
Jimbo I don't know why but I read that in Irish. It made me laugh anyway.

We need to stop this on here as we need to be serious!

It's the first smile I have had reading here for awhile.

30 Mar 2025 19:10:22
Blueblood, no football until Thursday so nothing wrong with taking the Micky our younger days. That said, we are now coming to the business end of the season. I have no predictions as to how it will pan out. Hoping for the best.

30 Mar 2025 20:43:24
To be honest jimbo I find the whole world far to serious now days. People don't like the mikey taken out of them.
If you can take it out of yourself your a dieing breed.

There is worst things in the world to worry about but let's have a laugh on the way.
