Fofana now out for the remainder of the season. If it's true that the club and its medical team advised him to have the surgery several weeks ago and HE preferred not to, then I'm not happy.
I guess there is a chance he could be ok for the WCC.

I totally agree Tom. Maresca said he expected him to have the surgery and the club were spot on. He stuck 2 fingers up and ignored the medical advice. He can leave in the summer as far as I'm concerned.

Anna, I’m not sure if the club were spot on if the have bought two players Lavia and Fofana who have hardly kicked a ball for us. There are a lot of players most of us would agree who should leave in the summer but who is going to buy them? Most of them are on long contracts. We are going to have problems in the summer. Bomb squad tactics won’t work.

We will have to do a deal akin to the sterling deal where we are paying £235k per week for him to contribute to a rival. That's £12m for this season. We're also paying half of chilwells wage for him to play at crystal palace.
I presume with our long contracts, i think we will see a few more occasions like this with our players. Jaoa Felix will almost certainly be the next player where we pay him to play elsewhere.

My guess is that after Fofana has his operation that one of his injury issues will probably be resolved. We did see a good partnership being built with Colwill earlier in the season, so I certainly wouldn’t look to sell him.
I wouldn’t have signed Felix but I think the lad can play. I assume he will be back with us for WCC and he could be useful in that tournament. After that let’s wait and see.
With players like Sterling and Chilly we could have paid all there wages and not played them at Chelsea. Also, for Chilly the loan looks to working out reasonably well for the lad.
Will be interesting to see how many players are sold or loaned in the summer. My guess is we will be saying goodbye to quite a few and only signing a couple.

Jimbo, I was making the point that the medical department advised Fofana to have surgery earlier this year but he refused.

If JF will be useful for us in the CWC, why did we loan him out when he supposedly would have been useful for us for the second half of the season.

I like Felix also tom. But I don't think the deal was done for any other reason than the gallagher deal because samu fell through.

Standard, I wouldn’t have clue why we bought Felix and I wouldn’t have a clue who he will be playing for next season and that includes us.
I think there will be clubs who are interested in buying him or taking him on loan.
We are a long way from finalising a squad for next season and with loan players coming back the decision makers will be kept busy, that’s for sure.
Bill, only with the benefit of something we all use, hindsight, I wouldn’t have loaned out JF. He would have got as much game time with us as he has with Milan. He hasn’t played as many games this season as a lot of our players and therefore could be useful in an “end of our season” competition.
I would also add, I haven’t got a clue what the competition rules will regarding squad size and flexibility. If that makes sense?

Comes back to it tom. How have we managed to be 3 years into this regime, 1.2 billion pounds invested and we still do not have a squad sorted. It is unbalanced and lacking a GK, CB, and ST. I just can't understand how that's possible. Lots of criticism required imo.

Standard, I’m talking about decisions needed for next seasons squad not this season.
Teams go far longer than three years/ seasons to build squads and win trophies.
I have very little interest in the amounts being invested or the fees being generated.
I like to take my time about judging players, managers, SD’s and owners.

That's fine tom that more teams go longer than 3 years. 100% of them teams you're talking about don't spend 1.2 billion pounds in the process. It's embarrassing.

Maybe because they didn’t invest £1bn it took some teams 10, 20 or even seventy years to win a domestic trophy.
If you find it “embarrassing” there isn’t much I or anyone else can do about it.
I have no idea what amounts the club will invest in this window but I think they will sell/ loan a lot more players than we buy.
I’m only really interested in us signing a CF. I assume Petrovic will be given a chance in goal for next season and I can’t see us buying another CH but I can see us selling/ loaning out two.
