I'm not as up to date with our young academy players as I used to be but a mate tells me we should very happy that Samuel's-Smith has signed a long contract extension.

I'm told he has been our most consistent U21 defender this season and if rules had allowed (I don't understand) he would have had some first team game time for the conference matches.

Hope to see him playing for the MIGHTY BLUES soon.

Totally agree Tom.

Great, that will be some poor profit for the regime to offset a shiny new signing!

(A jest, before anyone gets upset)

{Ed001's Note - I think that was me ma talking about me dad.}

haha Ed. My mum used to just say “what time do you call this” to my Dad, brothers, sisters and me. It was a phrase that covered virtually everything from staying to long in the pub or getting up late for breakfast.

{Ed001's Note - yeah that's one of my ma's faves too. She also used to love to say, "don't come running to me when you fall out down and break your leg." Or the other fave, when you were crying, "I'll give you something to cry about" before clouting you hard enough to knock you off your feet! I didn't like to tell that I already had something to cry about, that's why I was crying in the first place. Mams and logic do not go together at all.}

Very true Ed.

Strangely I used to hang on every word my parents said. It was very important to make them proud.

{Ed001's Note - that is a good thing.}

Tom, I’m sure your parents were proud. I respected my parents, listened to them and then ignored what they said. However, they must have got through to me as I believe I turned out to be alright.

I'm lucky enough that my parents are still (relatively) young. I've moved back to the UK for a couple years as I've mentioned, I'm just glad both my sisters are still there to visit. I've seen how lonely people can get when they get older and lose freinds and family.
