We now move on to Sundays game with the team lower in confidence and against a well organised side who caused us unnecessary problems at the bridge.
On top of that, Taylor is the referee.
I've got to get the all clear for alcohol.
18 Apr 2025 08:37:57
Hopefully you get the all clear Tom.
You are going to need it as captain LeicesterMaresca steers the good ship the CFC titanic towards the iceberg, oh hang in a minute we hit it back in December.
18 Apr 2025 10:29:42
Bill, in December my guess is you along with virtually every other poster was going on about how well EM had got the team playing.
Of course it’s perfectly reasonable to change ones mind.
The end of the season is only a few weeks away and my guess is the owners will stick with EM. I may well be wrong, as I was with Poch. In the meantime I hope all the supporters at the away and home games vocally support the team during those games. The team needs that help. For me that should always be a given.

How much of our form at the start of the season was down to the bounce from our form at the end of the previous season, under Poch? There were plenty commenting on how we were playing in a similar style. They should have stuck with Poch, there was definitely enough there to warrant some stability.
Maresca was also in position where he could pick a settled team, only rotating (en masse) for the early European fixtures. His use of the squad, when he's had to rotate more regularly, has been one factor where his inexperience has shown. Some seriously head scratching decisions.
Rumours circulating that Ancelloti will leave Real at the end of the season. I know he's been linked with the Brazil job, but I'd move heaven and earth (and certainly Maresca on) to get him back at Chelsea.

Carlo Ancelotti would be great can't see it though.
18 Apr 2025 14:48:55
Nah, unfortunately, in reality, neither can I.

Tom
From the start I did not wantvtge coach as I thought he was out of his depth.
That being said, towards the end of the year I did say that maybe I was wrong however, I was correct.
I really don't know how anybody would want to keep him, his tactical knowledge is poor, the football being played is dure, the players have either lost confidence or have down tools. He also blames everybody but himself.
18 Apr 2025 16:32:01
Bill, maybe some fans are just fed up with constant change, maybe some fans want to give a manager more than one season to prove themselves. Or, maybe like me, they will wait until the end of the season to make there final assessment.
18 Apr 2025 16:55:48
Be honest SpursBill1955, (an attempt at humour as you seem to call Managers by different teams) will you be happy if we finish top 5 and win a cup this season?
18 Apr 2025 18:00:56
Greenaway, just for arguments sake let’s say we finish outside the top five and don’t win the conference cup and perform poorly in the WCC but the owners decide to stick with EM as manager, will the fans start next season with a campaign of “EM out” or “booing” during a match?
I’m personally not going to be bullied into making my season assessment until the “whole” season is over. In the meantime I will support the team, hopefully by being present at the last few home games as vocally as I possibly can.

Greenaway
I have explained why I call our coach by that name, can you please explain your rationale for your so called 'humour'.
18 Apr 2025 19:30:54
I think it's approaching the point where, no matter what happens between now and the end of the season, keeping Maresca will cause a significant section of fans to start next season with a very negative mindset. It feels much like it did under Sarri, the camp will be divided on what they should happen.

Greenaway
Sorry I dod mot answer your question.
Of course I would be delighted to obtain a top 5 finish and if there is a cup win, even better.
That been said, I feel like it would be papering over the cracks unless we get leaders in place on the field and the quality of football improves.
Just out of curiosity, why do you think the coach is the right man for the job?
18 Apr 2025 19:49:19
“J” I would normally suggest that the last few games will have importance on any decision about EM’s future but from the outside a positive set of end of season results didn’t save Poch.
From the outside there seems to be a desire for further player change but I personally believe like last season there will be a lot more players leaving than joining.
I got the call wrong on Poch so I will probably get this wrong but I think EM will still be our manager for next season. I think a lot will depend on who the signings are in the summer window on how “some” fans react to no manager change.
