Tom

You are up with the CPO policy.

Just wondering what would be their thoughts on going to play Rugby in Twickenham for 7 years or so.

So like the London Mayor has even said to us come and talk to him as we as a big club need a new stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bill, I can only guess how a vote would go and what the owners would ask from the CPO if SB was redeveloped.

I think understandably that any owner would require the freehold and the naming rights returned to general club ownership on completion of a SB new build. If the CPO voted against such a request I would personally be disgusted.

If we are to redevelop SB then Twickenbam makes the most sense but remember there could be some disruption at that arena as the RFU are looking to upgrade that stadium as well. I think Richmond council will just grab the money and thanks very much and only play lip service to local residents concerns.

Going back to my post of yesterday, I also believe that when and if SB plans are approved or Earls Court, is when our current owners will look to sell. This is obviously just a hunch.

{Ed001's Note - surely they would wait until it is completed, as that is when the value will be highest?}

I can’t see the local council allowing regular PL football. The transport links are very poor.

Jimbo

We seem to have the London Mayor on board.

Also Tom, I have previously said that at least one of the party have to remain for 7 years as part of the purchase and strangely that would fall in line with the completion provided the builders were on time.

Ed, maybe but there are also risks involved in the build and financing. I would sell it like a house with planning permission and let someone else take on the likely problems but that’s just me.

{Ed001's Note - I can see your point, but the risks are not that great when you have their money, but the potential gains are immense.}

Bill, remember we are almost three years into there ownership, so there is only four left on that supposed agreement.

Jimbo, as far as transportation to and from the ground is concerned, it would appear that our wonderful mayor believed Arsenal and The Spuds about upgrading transport links and I’m told they are both still a joke.

Ed, there is an old market saying, “it’s never wrong to take a profit. ” Anyway, it’s only me guessing.

{Ed001's Note - I know mate, a lot of people work that way, it is their business plan, but none of them are billionaires mate.}

Tom

It was a 10 year agreement therefore still another 7 years I believe.

29 Apr 2025 17:11:48
Bill, I obviously misunderstood your previous post.

29 Apr 2025 17:39:55
No worries Tom.

29 Apr 2025 17:48:23
Bill, I hope my answer to your CPO question was ok?

It was Tom, thank you.
