Feeling truly awful at the moment. On top of everything I’ve now got a dose of the so called man flu. I’m hoping that our performance tomorrow makes me feel a little better.
As always it will be interesting to see the EM team selection. This is another that I can’t see us playing with inverted FB’s. I can see Pedro starting up front but I don’t think Palmer will start the game.
Anyway, COME ON MY MIGHTY BLUES.

Strasbourg doing well against Palace. Some of our future talent look useful. They have got an even younger team than us.

What type of team did CP put out Tom?
28 Nov 2025 12:24:33
Strong team. They had chances but generally I thought Strasbourg were the better side.
Strasbourg had a little ginger haired Argentinian player that looked good.

As expected the planning permission was granted last night to build on Earls Court without any plans to include a stadium which effectively means we will be staying at Stamford Bridge. Roman spent 20 years looking at ways to build a bigger ground but was thwarted for many different reasons and our new custodians have explored all options and have already purchased the land adjecent to the west stadium which currently houses the war vets. The shed holds just 6,000 seats and the east stand 13,000 so I imagine those 2 stands will now be under consideration for development.
We will likely smarten the place up and grab another 10,000 seats but that will be that. I think the future of football will likely be with clubs having their own TV rights and broadcasting all their own games so increasing our world wide fan base will be the way to go revenue wise and we currently have the 6th largest fanbase in world football and that was before our Club World Cup win which may of put into the top 5. Real Madrid and Barcelona lead the way. At least that topic can now be put to bed.

Why should the topic be put to bed RPD, let's move elsewhere where we would get planning permission.
27 Nov 2025 13:45:55
Bill, if we could move elsewhere I’m sure that would have been an option under consideration.
There is nothing available. So, as I have been saying for a long time, just get on with the redevelopment of SB. My guess is it will stand by stand.
27 Nov 2025 18:41:09
Tom
Lets hope KB is around to bail us out again.
27 Nov 2025 20:09:49
Matt Law is now reporting our owners have not ruled out making a bid for the whole Earls Court site from the current owners inclusive of the planning permission. They want that site to build a world leading stadium and are prepared to trade SB.
Maybe it's not quite put to bed just yet? These developments totally explain why the owners have not put out any updates as so much is happening behind the scenes.
28 Nov 2025 07:52:08
Earls Court was always very unlikely and in some ways I’m glad it’s all done and dusted. There is supposedly another potential sight (unnamed) within two miles of SB we are looking at.
The club has 1bn set aside for stadium development. It will be interesting to see what is finally decided but I’m personally not that bothered.

I was talking to a fellow ST holder last night about the game on Sunday. Neither of us were too optimistic about us getting a result.

What were the reasons Tom?
27 Nov 2025 13:47:22
We both rate the gooners and we are getting in our excuses early.
27 Nov 2025 14:25:48
It will be a tough game on Sunday. Arsenal are efficient and consistent but they are nothing special. They are just the best ( at present ) of a mediocre bunch. Chelsea and Man City are inconsistent and Liverpool have fallen off a cliff.
The rest are also rans. Clearly though Arsenal are favourites. So it’s up to us to take Areteta aka Troy Tempest down a peg or two.
27 Nov 2025 19:12:53
There’s no weakness in that Arsenal team, no gap in the armour to exploit, their squad building has been exceptional. Can we edge the midfield battle? Will Palmer make a heroic return? Can Cucurella perform well against Saka, with Lamine Yamal still in his pocket?
Should be a fantastic game, I’m not panicking about anything if they beat us, they’re just a really good side.
27 Nov 2025 20:34:56
Arsenal are over hyped, they are good at NFL tactics in the penalty area but past that they struggle to score from open play.
It might surprise a few on here but I beleive as a football team, we are much better than they are.
28 Nov 2025 08:26:59
I totally agree with you Bill, they are efficient at best and rely on set pieces to win games. The way punters and pundits are salivating over them is laughable. They have out spent everyone bar Man U in the last 5 years (Nett) and allowed Artita 7 years of failure to get to this point so should go on and win the league at last but let's not go overboard.
28 Nov 2025 09:13:01
I actually agree with Bill, I think if we can stop their set pieces we have a great chance of coming out with a win on Sunday.
28 Nov 2025 11:41:49
I think very similar things were said about us under Mourinho, the first time around that block. Personally I didn’t care at the time, winning was all that really mattered. Arsenal have only conceded one goal in the UCL this season and, whilst I don’t think our record is under threat, only 6 conceded in the EPL. They’re very, very efficient in what they do, and they just keep on winning games - a fantastic defensive unit. They’re also the joint top scorers in the EPL, whilst only Dortmund, Bayern and PSG have scored more in the UCL.
I still think we can beat them this weekend, but they’re definitely the top team in the EPL right now, and probably the UCL too. They’re not top of both leagues by accident.
29 Nov 2025 12:00:25
No comparison at all with ourselves under Jose, we were and still are serial winners. Remind me what Arsenal have won under Artita in his 7 years building a team and out spending everyone bar Man U? I think ED01 explained that they should win the league this year almost by default but that could of been said last year as well? Don't get me wrong, I don't expect us to challenge for the title this season but the punters and pundits love in with Arsenal is quite frankly over the top considering we are only one third into the season and I have yet to see the cups handed out this early.
29 Nov 2025 16:54:28
RPD, absolutely agree with you. In 2005/ 6 we were special and we had the “Special One”. There is nothing special about Arsenal or Arteta. That said, they will probably win the title, we are not ready to sustain a serious challenge Man City are inconsistent and Liverpool are already too far behind to be considered as contenders.

Poch, I wouldn’t worry about Stevo yet, the best way to keep top players is to win big trophies. Sanchez had nothing to do last night or recently for that matter. Our defence looks like a tight unit at present although a really top class CB wouldn’t go amiss. I am not convinced about Sanchez, he is not top class.
27 Nov 2025 07:42:42
Sanchez did make one very good save and his ball distribution was excellent.
He has been fairly solid for sometime now but he will always just a mistake away from being pillared by a section of our fan base. He has surprised me how much his game has improved, long may that trend continue.
27 Nov 2025 09:15:04
Top players are always sought after that's fine, if we buy a top class centre back think we would need to sell a couple.
We have Josh, Trev, Fofana, Badiashille, Tosin and Colwill to come back when fit and that's not counting Diasi .
Agree with you re Sanchez think there has been a slight improvement but I still don't see a top class keeper there not that many around to my eye haven't seen enough of Maignan. If I could choose a keeper really like the attitude of Pickford, but if we defend as well as we have been the need for a keeper is not as urgent as it was.
27 Nov 2025 23:51:23
I think penders will be our long term keeper problem solved he is growing well from what i hear in strasburg.
28 Nov 2025 10:01:59
Poch, depending on how Sanchez performs for the remainder of this season but I can see Penders staying out on loan for one more season, a bit like Courtoise and his two season long loan to AM.

Sadly I can’t get to the game this Sunday. Strangely I haven’t been able to transfer my ticket onto the ticket exchange.
Apparently the exchange is open at 5pm today for the gooner game. For those who want tickets can I suggest you have your finger hovering over the buy button at that time today.

Tom, like you can’t make the game on Sunday, Despite the great performance against Barcelona a bit nervy about the game. Obviously a completely different type of opponent, I hope Maresca has a few more tricks up is sleeve. Once again, I would like Steve to start and rough up their defenders.
26 Nov 2025 07:36:16
Of course you have to the best team the world has ever seen to go away from home, be down to ten men for a significant percentage of a game and get a result.
Holly Molly who did that?
