Ed002, possible to ask the plan with strikers this summer? With Giroud seemingly not renewing and Batshuayi potentially going, I would expect at least one in?

{Ed002's Note - Right now there is no agreement regarding what is happening in respect of strikers being looked at and some disagreement within the club as to what the club should be looking to do. As such, there has not really been any change.
Bryan Fiabema (S/LW) Kiddie from Tromso wanted by Chelsea and Manchester City - Chelsea had someone speak with him and explain what his future would look like – and the transfer has been agreed.
Timo Werner (S) RBL know of the interest of Chelsea who consider TW as a suitable replacement for Giroud - but they have other options. Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid remain keen - but this could change quickly depending on other targets clubs have - equally if other clubs were not able to sign their targets, interest in TW might increase. Atletico signing Cavani would likely kill off their interest and they have financial issues. There is clearly interest from Klopp, but would Timo Werner be interested in a move to sit on the bench at Liverpool most of the time? If the answer is yes, or if Firmino is leaving then it makes sense. Many of the fans expect Klopp to numerous players without anyone leaving and then completely change tactics and rotate them - it makes zero sense and the club has to meet Home Grown quotas as well. PSG are concerned about being shunned by Icardi and have looked at TW but have not declared any interest. Mr Mourinho is keen for Spurs to take him but there are concerns about the cost. The interest of Dortmund has gone with the signing of Haarland - but could return in the summer if Real Madrid could prise Haaland away. Bayern Munich were never going to do business in January and played down all transfer talk but there is no doubt that Robert Lewandowski, who will be 32 at the start of next season, is going to need replacing in the next 18 months - and the plan had always been that it would be Timo Werner - they could yet look to do something or perhaps suggest he waits another year at RBL who have offered a new contract. Last summer there was an approach from PSG who wanted Werner as a Cavani replacement - in the end Cavani stayed and they took Icardi on loan. The player has always said he wants to play for Manchester United one day but a move last summer was not possible and then Werner said he wanted to play for Bayern Munich over all others. Now after a potential illegal approach he clearly wants to join Liverpool - the riot act has been read to him over public statements. There was a third party trying to negotiate for a BM move last summer but they were a long way apart on price and RBL looked to extend. As BM were expected to need Werner this coming summer, a release clause was agreed with his new contract that would make him available at a low fee so RBL would keep him another year and then he could move to Bayern Munich this summer. There was a meeting with Inter Milan in London and they were told RBL were resigned to losing Werner as the player had his head turned by Liverpool – although they had yet to approach RBL. Unlikely for Chelsea.
Moussa Dembele (S) there will be serious interest from Manchester United in the summer but both Chelsea and MU will likely smart at the €100M initial; price tag. Chelsea have the benefit of having something to negotiate with but would need to think carefully at anything like that that price. It will become clearer soon if Lyon would be open to selling at perhaps €60M to €70M.
Lautaro Martinez (S) Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico, Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have all scouted him but Atletico will be put off by the price and have their eyes on a different option. Barcelona, who see LM as a potential Suarez replacement, will likely not be able to afford both him and Neymar without significant sales – but they are working on it. Bayern Munich still see him as an option to Timo Werner but Werner is preferred again. Chelsea have a sustained interest and Manchester City see him as a potential Aguero replacement. Real Madrid are considering someone else as a cheaper option as they are also looking at a world record fee signing as well. If PSG lose Icardi to Juventus they could turn to LM but much will depend on the new coach.
Emrehan Gedikli (S) Chelsea wanted the kid (16) in exchange for a Chelsea youngster who Bayer Leverkusen wanted. He will stay in Germany until at least 2021 - so won't happen.
Matias Godoy (F) Chelsea are very, very keen on the kid and there was a little horse trading with another side to remove their interest. Atletico Rafaela rejected one offer from Chelsea and a preferred move to Dinamo Zagreb went ahead. Scratch him for now.
Fyodor Chalov (F) Has been watched and one person is very keen. But CSKA continue to look for €35M which interested sides see as too high. Scratch him from Chelsea’s options.
Joe Gelhardt (F) Wigan kiddie who has attracted a lot of attention from Premier League sides who had trials with Liverpool and Everton when very young. Spurs and Chelsea have both spoken with Wigan about the player, but both came away thinking he should stay where he is for a year or two to develop. Manchester United have sent an ex-player to look at him and I understand Liverpool, West Brom and Everton have also been scouting him. Another one to perhaps keen an eye on but a move to Chelsea is very unlikely.

Well, from that list I can only see Lautaro and Dembele as actual improvements on what we have. Lautaro seems unlikely at best with the competition for him, and at those prices I'd be hesitant to go for Dembele. He's good, but is he really that good that he'd warrant over 60 million?

Guess I'm going to have to pray that Giroud extends and Broja surprises all :-P
Thanks for the info, Ed!

{Ed002's Note - Read the start of it.}

Great stuff Ed, thanks.

Slightly dissapointed not seeing Jovic in this list, but what do I know?

Ed002, is there a chance that Giroud stays, or will there be definitely a new striker coming in the next transfer window?

{Ed002's Note - It need not be one or the other.}

Understood.
